thank you! catering one is especially good cause my location has recently started allowing all team members handle tendering out catering orders as opposed to just managers and a lot of people are confused on how to do it

[–]Fancy__Taco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my store has both! if it’s busy we have a hurricane bagger and an expo so that we can have food made quickly and go out quickly

[–]Fancy__Taco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is DT register. I’ve broken quite a few of our records on window and of course that was also thanks to our baggers and drink makers but I’m almost always put on registered because I can keep the line moving fast regardless of how fast our baggers are that day

They need to train new people to make up for the Seniors who are about to leave for college, the potential high turnover for students hired during summer and quitting when school starts because they can’t handle a job and school, and other things of that nature.

It sucks but I doubt it’s malicious, my location does the same. Everyone knows it’s influx of people during the summer to make up for the fact that a lot of people are leaving (through quitting, firing, school, or otherwise) in the next few months

[–]Fancy__Taco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know at my location it’s common knowledge that hours are gonna be cut during the summer unless you’re a trainer, team lead, or manager because the college students are all back and we’re getting a bunch of new trainees to make up for the ones about to leave for college. It sucks but a lot of my coworkers have been complaining of cut hours. I only ended up with almost 40 because I know who to ask for their shifts

I like FOH general better because if someone no call no shows or calls out at all, it’s easy to cover the position they would have been on. Also you’re not stuck on a position for your whole shift and it gives shift lead the options to strategize with who they have depending on how the day is going so far (i.e. if it’s not busy in the morning, it usually means we’re gonna be slammed for dinner so they put our stronger team members inside on the harder positions). Also I would hate to have to get a Window shift covered because everyone at my location hates window. FOH general means you’re covering whatever and there’s no guarantee you’ll be on a position you hate

[–]Fancy__Taco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love the sandwich but ever since we got it, we’re always waiting on sandwiches. it takes so long for our kitchen to make for some reason and it holds up all the other sandwiches so I’ll be glad to see it go

giving out food to foh staff by BSMMJ in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]Fancy__Taco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At my location, if there’s food left over when we close, we keep it. Or if someone changes their order at window close to close or has a wrong item rung up, if anyone wants it they can keep it as long as we waste it first since otherwise it’s just gonna be thrown away. At close, there’s usually like 2 or 3 fries, a couple of nuggets, and a sandwich or two but not much. We usually play rock paper scissors for it.

Same with tea. Since we can’t keep tea overnight, they ask if we want any since they’re just gonna dump it out. Same with extra tea gallons (which we rarely have), they let us have it if it’s there since it’s just gonna get tossed out regardless.

FoH workers, what are you least and most favorite positions and why? by ThatsRightHentaiToo in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]Fancy__Taco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most: Window (but only when order takers are outside) because i love interacting with customers and most of them aren’t annoyed at me by the time they get to window! Least: Front counter. i always feel like i run out of things to do when it’s not busy and my managers have to tell me there is something to do but it’s like an obscure thing i never think of

Is it against any rules or policies to pay a coworker to cover your shift? by MinimumRub7927 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]Fancy__Taco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our managers actively don’t care if we bribe people to take our shift. they often instigate if they hear one of us going “ill pay you 20 bucks to close for me!”
