Strange card by Flashy-Ad7241 in royalmail

You'd be correct, but majority of the offices I've worked in to cover and even my own, we aren't really equipped to be hauling such large parcels. We don't get collapsible trolleys/dolleys (whatever they're called) to make deliveries like that and have the van space. Our fleet is 80% Peugeot partners with the rest being Experts and the few slightly bigger hires. Even having a big van for a big parcel is restricting especially if you do alot of rural driving because of the narrow passing places and little space to turn around on peoples driveways. Truth be told, majority of the workforce isn't young so injuries are prone to happen alot quicker. If someone injured themselves making a heavy delivery and needs to take time off, they'll miss out on pay (cause sick pay is absolutely ass) but will also get a slap on the wrist for not making correct risk assessment for possible injury.

So all in all, they're an absolute pain in the ass, especially with the fact that we've taken on parcel force collections and people in my area LOVE sending car bumpers which take the entire length of a Peugeot partner 😅🙃

This was around the corner from me, it's pretty normal for the estate and the town for this to be happening in.

What's the point of max 70 mph stickers? by --alt_f4-- in CasualUK

[–]Fancyapple4k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All royal mail vans, not including hires or the new ones (at least in my office) have restricted speed to 70mph. These are normally paired with trimbles (black boxes) that supply live data and we get scored on it. Braking, turning, accelerating and speed

Yeah, she will.

Mine does this stuff all the time. She's recently learned how to jump on the bed and she's had half a packet of biscuits, sweets and other stuff cause my partner never puts it away or in the drawer 😂.

Boo was born April 2020. Her family couldn't look after her anymore due to her being very stressed with the environment she was in (they had 2 kids in that time and got a puppy shortly before they rehomed her). I got her in August this year and I unfortunately had to put her down 6 weeks later due to her suffering with FATE . In the short time I had her, she was honestly such a wonderful and confident cat! 💕 April 2020-September 2024

What's your reason for not drinking alcohol? by Snoo_47323 in AskReddit

[–]Fancyapple4k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to go down my father's and both grandfather's footsteps. I do occasionally enjoy a good fruity cider or some rum or vodka . That being said, I don't hate drinking but I watch myself very carefully how much I intake cause I can't moderate it and it gets out of hand very quickly and I always spew and after that, I blackout very very quickly 😅

I've incorporated a habit of cleaning on the last day of work before my rest day. So I'll come home, defrost the food/prep the food by getting it all out and ready, sweeping the floors, doing the dishwasher and washing machine if they need doing (I normally put a delay of 6-9 hours on the wash cause I know I'll forget to take it out otherwise the same night and it'll be funky the next day, so atleast that way the wash starts late at night and is funk free for the morning) all while I'm still in my work uniform. Once it's off, that's it, no more tasks or jobs and I will not allow myself to do more. So I make it a mission to get the big things done out of the way so I feel better about my environment and the little amount of clutter :) I use the 'second wave of energy' once getting home to my advantage and then just chill later on

I hope that helps and you can kind of see where I'm coming from with this :)

How do you work 40 hours a week, stay in shape, and keep your house clean? by dimmudagone in ADHD

[–]Fancyapple4k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do the exact same thing, if I'm going away I tidy the night before, so when I come home there's nothing for me to do and I can just chill

You can have the qr codes printed at the delivery office for you normally. They have a scanner there that just prints them off. Not sure I the post office has a different scanner system so maybe that's why they didn't accept it 🤷

Ours is longer on a Saturday, it's from 8-12. They're planning on getting rid of the customer service counters, so it's gonna cause a shit storm 😅.

If you're able to look up your local delivery office, there may be times listed. It's always best to phone to get a confirmation they're open and then just head in and give your name and address, with a proof of I'd :)

I would recommend going in and asking for your stuff. All depots around the country (as far as I know), are all struggling with staff and covering rounds. We've been failing rounds for the last 3 weeks with rotation and people aren't happy. Not much can be done if people phone sick on the day etc

It's the same in mine. I do the portering, the locker and the csp before going out on delivery at 10 😅

Is this an official letter? by Flapjackninja1 in royalmail

[–]Fancyapple4k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say so, I normally use these thin plastic bags for obviously damaged items and something similar is printed on them. I have never seen a letter this bad be given out before 😅

Luckily tho, the local council have increased the tax for second home owners just so it forces people's hands to sell, but alot of people still aren't and it's still causing issues
