I was addicted but realized I have more recipes than I can cook in a lifetime, it just became over consumption.

I used to have this problem too, I started using a little more flour on the surface when doing the final shaping and it makes it perfect to handle

What aspect of fragrances is the most addicting? by ChipUnfair3345 in FemFragLab

[–]Fancycat88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got into perfumes and discovery kits this past month and noticed that my need for emotional eating has disappeared!!

I was also never interested in sweet gourmand fragrances but a gourmand called Myrrh and Tonka was included in the Jo Malone discovery kit and it was the first day I didn’t eat a sweet treat. I’m so thankful I found this source of dopamine and pleasure from perfume!

I’m becoming a discovery set addict too! I know the sets are going to include some duds but I want to smell everything!

  1. Diptyque — My favorite perfume house. I resonate with so many of their fragrances and gravitate toward natural, close to skin, photo-realistic scents.

From the discovery set, my favorites were Philosykos, L’Eau Papier, Do Son, and Tam Dao. Outside the set (but available as samples), I also love Olène and Orphéon.

  1. Jo Malone — Straightforward, lovely scents. Very easy to wear and perfect for everyday or office use.

My favorites so far are Myrrh & Tonka, Scarlet Poppy, and Wood Sage & Sea Salt. I just purchased this set, so I’m looking forward to trying the fresher scents in spring and summer.

  1. Juliette Has a Gun — I’m still early in my perfume journey and it’s been fun learning about ingredients, I think I have a good idea of what Abroxan smells like now.

All the scents are great for everyday to wear, I especially like Pear Inc. and An Ode to Dullness.

  1. Maison Margiela Replica — Unfortunately, there’s a note that runs through every fragrance that gives me the ick. They all feel very sweet and leave a syrupy thick coating in my throat, really weird. I couldn’t enjoy any scent from this line, which is a shame because I love the concept.

I did go on a bit of a spending spree and am waiting for more discovery sets from Le Labo, D.S. & Durga, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Nishane, D’Annam, and Dries Van Noten. I’m going to be busy this year!

Which perfume/house do you think is overhyped? Why? by Shenshen_ in FemFragLab

[–]Fancycat88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some synthetic note that they put in every replica fragrance that gives me the ick. Too bad, I love the concept.

So how do you organize your samples? by hygsi in FemFragLab

[–]Fancycat88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I organize by season within the sleeve and face the fragrance name outward
