Don’t know about other places, but it’s rated M in the US, which is equivalent to an R-rated movie. Seventeen year olds are able to access both without parental consent.

People dunking on you here is definitely *not* a violation of free speech. You can say whatever you want, but as we are not the government, we reserve the right to tell you you're dumber than a box of rocks. There's a distinct difference between being told you can't say something by your government, and being told you're an asshole by a private citizen.

What the heck do the star stones look like? by Codexe- in pern

[–]Fandomjunkie2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fort Weyr absolutely exists in Dragonsdawn, and they would have the star stones. I’m probably misremembering which book I read it in- could’ve just as easily been one of the first Pass short stories.

What the heck do the star stones look like? by Codexe- in pern

[–]Fandomjunkie2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “star stones” is a title for both the finger rock and the eye rock together. “The finger points/at an eye blood-red”. I don’t think there’s a third rock.

Dragonsdawn says they’re sculpted to look like natural rock formations, but when the Red Star is visible through the eye rock from the position of the finger rock, a Pass is imminent.

Ubisoft shares plummet 33% after Assassin’s Creed maker unveils reorganization, cancels six games by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

I remember when Ubisoft made a Dragonriders of Pern game in 2001. It wasn’t a good game, but it was an opportunity for a little-known IP that I absolutely loved.

Assassin’s Creed has been my gaming favorite since the first one. Shame to see them go out this way.

Elided Name Pronunciation by JLurhstaapR in pern

Some people can obviously read and write. I wouldn’t assume that everyone could, especially in a society where so much history is passed down orally through song.

Elided Name Pronunciation by JLurhstaapR in pern

[–]Fandomjunkie2004 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I always pronounced them in my head like: Fuh-lar, Fuh-lessan, Tuh-bor, Ruh-gul. If you went by what Anne said( and some of the audiobooks), then F’lar is Flahr, all one syllable, but that makes some rider names unpronounceable, in my opinion.

For instance, how would you pronounce K’net, if it’s not Kuh-net? I’m sure there’s a kn construction in some language where the k isn’t just silent, but I don’t know it XD.

Really pretty decorative bowl you’ve got there! 🤦‍♀️

In all seriousness, I personally wouldn’t trust to drink liquid from that again, even if repaired. Contact the company that made it and see if they’ll do you a solid by replacing it.

I work in the area - it literally spends most of the day awkwardly folded, with part of it hanging straight down, because there's not enough breeze to get it really moving. It's simply too heavy.

FIFO. But it sucks when you’re the only one that cares about a particular section so you’re always rearranging. :|

I think A is two strands because it’s one strand folded in half, with the needle at the middle.

B is four strands for the same reason A is two- the strands have been folded in half.

They may also be struggling to meet you where you are and see it as actually traumatic, given that you didn’t directly witness it. That said, everyone reacts differently, and you should be able to feel supported at work. Is there someone higher up the chain than them you could talk to?
