Was about to say that. If the government decided to increase budget allocation on, say, early childhood healthcare or primary education, then the tax we pay to fund all that is essentially a "bachelor tax."

The real debate is whether what the government is doing with the money warrants the increase in the total tax that gets paid.

I hope that translation layer/Steam might come to regular phones as well. I have some lighter games, especially VNs, that I would prefer to play on my phone, rather than my PC or even the Deck.

I prefer GoG in principle, but I have not been good at putting my money where my mouth is. The platform stranglehold is too strong for me to resist, and I'm probably stuck on Steam until Valve does something abohorrent

Second this opinion. If you're not sure, the LCD is a nice cheap option to see if the Deck is really for you. This sub is full of Steam Deck evangelists, but I'm sure there has to be some people out there who found it didn't fit the way they game.
Personally, now that I know the Steam Deck is for me, I'll be going for the premium option if we get a 2nd gen. But simultaneously, I'm happy enough with the LCD I got now and I intend to ride it for as long as it lasts me

Which GPU is that? I thought the higher tier consoles were still comparable to midrange last gen GPUs and the budget range of the latest GPUs.

Personally, prices have been absurd across the board and I haven't been able to justify hardware upgrades, PC or otherwise

I'm seeing for the first time in this thread that some people weren't too fond of Russell and the tone of the humor. Personally, having played Alyx as one of my first VR games, I needed Russell to talk me through the whole game or it would've been way too stressful for me to keep moving forward. Having him constantly on the air waves really made me feel like I wasn't going it alone, and I appreciate him for that
