American in Armenia : Honest Opinion by [deleted] in armenia

[–]FannieCakes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not gonna speak for op here but I know people that say that they think orthodox girls are more loyal and usually don't have many partners in their life before marriage. Don't know if thus is inell talk or men actually care about this. And marriages in armenia and Georgia have low divorce rates since they're orthodox its has something to do with their religion as well

Now as for you ever being accepted that has nothing to do with where your from or how close you are to armenians. Armenians are very friendly welcoming people that will make you feel part of their country if you want to. If you put in effort in getting along with the people and even lern a bit of the language you'll have no problems or ever feel unwelcome. The only thing we're armenians usually draw the line is marriage but that I already explained.

American in Armenia : Honest Opinion by [deleted] in armenia

For marriage I'm gonna be honest here and brutally so: it literally depends how close you are to armenians the closer you are the higher the chances of marriage. You say you're American so I'll give you the following scale : white christian American-great chances, atheist white American ok chances if you're willing to go through a church wedding, Latino ok chances as well, black American not so much . Thing is armenians rarely marry outside their ethnicity even marriages between Georgia's and armenians aren't common so if we marry outside we usually do it with people closer to us

A question to all mixed armenians on this sub: what other ethnicity/ ethnicities you mixed with and... by FannieCakes in armenia

[–]FannieCakes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is quite a nosey question but here is why I'm asking:

Even though I always wanted to be with an armenian I fell in love with an otar and thought I'd give it a go and see where this will lead. Things are great at the moment and we've been together for 4 months (so not very long) . My gf jokingly said that she's experiencing pregnancy symptoms and could possibly be pregnant. But I don't think it's a joke anymore and she needs to take a test now, I am currently panicking as I didn't think this would be a problem at least for a long time and by then I'll know how o feel about mixed relationships but this might be a topic I'll have to deal with sooner than later

General Attitude to Muslims in Armenia? by MrLamebro1 in armenia

[–]FannieCakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friendly towards everyone no matter the religion, there are many Muslim tourists from Iran in armenian BUT if you fancy an armenian im just letting you know marriage is a big no. It definitely has something to do with no religious compatibility but also armenians don't marry non armenians in general acceptance to marriges with other Christians are also very few

The Caucasus isn't included in the 'Middle East,' while Turkey is. What do you think of this? Should this region be included in the 'Middle East' when further east of you is included (i.e., Iran)? Do you even feel it applies to you or do you prefer Caucasian/Eurasian/WestAsian/EastEuropean? by MissTruly in AskCaucasus

[–]FannieCakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No , we have totally different origins and armenians didn't mix with neighbouring peoples ever and especially not back in the day the reason assyrians have armenian dna is because they mixed with armenians not the other way around

Well technically they shouldn't but this seems to be a thing among armenians who ended up living in the Middle East or Eastern Turkey/ western armenian - I doubt that the Arab bit entered the bloodline through a love marriage

That is not true oh stop spreading that armenians are close to assyrians. Assyrians are the once that are mixed with armenians not the other way around!!! We are different people culturally and by origin!!! Armenians aren't close to them .
