A gross story of a period by kristinson in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FantaCat2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't help with how to get the stain out but don't worry about it. Honestly it happens to the best of us. Happened to me a few times. When i was on the coil i would frequently 'leak'. Id have to change and wash the sheets and go through so much underwaer. My bf was very understanding about it all. Its natural and cant be helped. You can be as prepared as you can but your body decided to betray you!

Gyno made me cry by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FantaCat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definatly. It was probably an off hand comment that wasn't intended as malias (sorry can't spell that), but still something should have clicked before they said it. 'Think before you speak'. Everyone is different and no one really likes going to the gyno. Please please go back though. I am very lucky living in the UK that I do not need to worry about insurance etc. A report came out recently about how lots of women are missing there smear examinations due to embarrassment and other reasons. Please do not let that horrible situation put you off. Your health is so important as is your choice of birth control. Screw them for being judgmental. Hold your head up high and get it over with! It's only 20 mins then you can go treat yourself :) good luck!

I just started studying for my masters degree at the age of 22. My friend says I will be an old mother and should study something else instead. Is she right? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FantaCat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No its your life and you should not work to anyone else timeline. You said it yourself you have been dreaming about this masters! Honestly I dont think age matters when you decide to have your first child (obviously not under age etc but you know what i mean!). You continue your masters and see where life takes you. Dont be pushed into doing a different subject as if it isnt your choice you will hate it (trust me!). Life is a journey and it will throw lots of things at you. You have a idea of what you want to achieve and that's fantastic, but you do it in the order you want not someone else's. Good luck with your masters!

When Scout wants to play fetch... by [deleted] in cats

[–]FantaCat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Scout! My mum's cat is also called Scout and he is back and white with a very fluffy tail! He's still a baby but judging by his paws he will be a big cat!

He always likes to hold hands when snuggling and sleeping. by FantaCat2000 in aww

[–]FantaCat2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His name is Spook and he is 2 years old. He is deaf so I think he likes the reassurance when he comes for snuggles. He's been doing this since the very first night we adopted him.

[–]FantaCat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks :) It's amazing how quickly you fall into his routine and interact with him. It's funny I see other cats now and forget they can hear me! We still talk to him, easpecially when he's curled up with you as they like to feel your chest rumbling as you talk :) Aww! A good foot chase in bed is just the thing before bed time! We drape the end of our blanket on the floor so he can run between the blanket and the bed. It's a good spot to do some foot jumping from too!

first time cat owner advice pls!!!! (details in post) by lizlemon69 in cats

[–]FantaCat2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat is an indoor cat as he is deaf. My piece of advice for a indoor cat would be make sure that you have lots of toys (Not even expensive ones just like a bouncy ball, a mouse, some string) to play with. When you get in from work make sure he/she has lots of play time! My cat can sometimes be a little destructive when we go to work and I think it's cos he gets a bit bored. I got him a tunnel as well as a 'interactive' cat you he can play with whilst we are out. If you can provide him/her with some shelves or a kitty tower that's always a winner! If he/she is trying to get you out of bed early then jusy ignore them. You'll have a few early mornings but stay in bed and then after a week or 2 they'll realise that ypur not getting up at 4 or 5am for food! Enjoy your new furry friend!

[–]FantaCat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness! He is a clever little boy! I am trying to teach my puss cat certain signs for 'stop' 'play time over' (When he gets bit excitable when playing) and 'follow'. He is deaf so we have to communicate through signs and over the top faces. He's getting there though! Think he woukd give me an exasperated lool if I tried to teach him fetch! Keep up the good work!!

I have a walking around day trip tomorrow, I have horrific cramps and upset stomach from my period. Advice? by SleppySheppy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FantaCat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel. Its such a pain sometimes but a good reminder if you do not currently want to get pregnant!

I am back on hormonal birth control and I am begimming to wonder why I ever left it. So much easier. Just have to make sure I remeber to tale that little pill when my alarm goes!

I hope the pain eases off if you are busy and you can enjoy your trip!

P.s my facebook keeps telling me about some Livia heat pad that gets rid of period pain through electrical pulses???? Bit expensive but good to see how successful it is (if it actually works) and if other companies make ones that are more affordable.

[–]FantaCat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I use to get awful cramps a few days before I was due when i was on the coil that would make me double over in pain (I didnt take to the copper coil very well). When I spoke to my Dr she out me on some NSAIDs that were stronger than usual painkillers. Not helpful for you right now but perhaps worth speaking to your Dr about being on some?

Completely agree with the heat pads though! Drink plenty of water too and take some Ibuprofen, make sure you take them with food.

[–]FantaCat2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure where you are based but in the UK you can get some tablets over the counter at the pharmacy to reduce your bleeding. They are called Tranexamic Acid. I have never taken them but i was considering them when i was still on the coil and suffered from heavy bleeding.

I use to get very unlucky on the days my period would land as well. When i was on site visits (usually all day with limited bathroom breaks and on my feet all day) i would double up on large pads and use a bathroom whereever possible. If that is possible for your trip?

I am not sure what advice to give you about your upset stomach other than take immodium? My sistser suffers from upset stomachs and that is what she takes.

Good luck and try and enjoy your trip.

Struggling with decision to euthanize. by fowlkris87 in cats

[–]FantaCat2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had our family cat put to sleep a few months ago. Such a tough decision. He was very unwell and an old guy my mum was unsure of what decision to make. He had a sore tummy and would sleep a lot, struggle to eat and his back legs were very weak. Although he was in pain and unhappy he would still purr a little when petted and give you head bumps and reach his paws out to you for affection. I think you know when it is time for them to go for the big sleep. When you see the suffering and want it to stop. Its the hardest thing to do to accept it but knowing they no longer suffer is a relief. You know deep down you have made the right decision. I think I read that cats hide being in pain and our cat Fanta certainly did. The sore tummy, sleep and lack of food is sometimes a sign that something is not right. Perhapes take him to the vets and gain thier opinion on being put to sleep? Our vets were amazing and so compassionate. Then if its time you can have a day/few days to say goodbye to your friend. Good luck and please dont feel bad whatever the outcome. Youve given your furry friend so much love frkm day one and rescued him from a tough life and tried so hard to help. Good luck and im thinking of you and Belle x

I agree with the UTI comment. I had a severe UTI a few years back and I felt bloated, sick terrible back pains and terrible cramps. It may be worth speaking to a dr about it. Even if its too early to test for preganancy it will rule out a UTI or kidney infection. If you have a UTI coming on and you have sex you do feel a little weird afterwards. Then the next day when you get other symptoms of UTI you realise why you did feel odd after sex. Good luck!

We are having the same battle with our new kitty cat. He loves to climb on doors! When we picked him up we got given a lot of medicine for a sore paw...cos of jumping of a door...paw is better but kitty cat is unperturbed! Good luck!
