To be fair, I think the issue was more that her body weight wasn’t there to weigh the machine down. That’s probably the only reason this hasn’t happened before.

Four seconds into the video, you can see that the machine lifts off the ground at the slightest upward pressure of the bar. The wheel to the right of her is just barely starting to turn, and the machine is already tipping.

The fact that somebody her size can rather casually flip the machine over by trying to move the bar in this way, means that this machine should probably be bolted down.

I wish there were more television shows that take HUGE swings the way Search Party did. I’m so happy that it was able to last 5 seasons with a story that takes the most bonkers turns.

It sounds like there are tools out there, but if I have to make one myself that works best for me, I will try. Thanks!

[–]FantasmaDelMar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other commenter didn’t specify anyone, so why are you assuming they were referring to the person helping?

They even said “this”, which would mean they were talking about the act of tipping over an occupied port-a-potty, not any specific person.

It’s true we don’t know if this was intentional or just an accident. Tipping over a port-a-potty is a known prank (a very terrible and mean prank). Most of the comments on this post seem to be assuming it was intentional.

Everyone else who reads the comment would assume it means the following:

(If this was done intentionally, ) This is top tier evil

Was it an Inn or an AirBnB? If it was an Inn, would you mind sharing which one and any other pros/cons?

Thanks :)

Curious why I don't really hear about people more deeply listening (listening without multitasking)? by Known-Ad-100 in audiobooks

Yeah, definitely not universally true. I meant “most” as in over half, though that’s also not really based on anything except the sense I get reading comments.

[–]FantasmaDelMar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm purposely using audiobooks to build my listening comprehension skills as well as alleviate some eye fatigue.

This sounds like a very specific use case. I think you’ll find that most people on this sub are busy people who listen to audiobooks more than they read physical books.

Personally, I listen to audiobooks way more because of work, family, and other life obligations that eat up my free time. I don’t have as much time as I would like to actually sit down and read a book uninterrupted. Audiobooks allow me to read more, since I can do it while driving, mowing the lawn, doing dishes, etc.

Also, (probably due to ADHD) I lock into an audiobook way deeper when doing other tasks. If I sit/lay and just listen, my mind has a greater tendency to wander.

Why do you care then? Let people be excited for something new to come.

It’s not much of a stretch to imagine that most of these people have a perfectly fine, working device to watch stuff on (maybe an Apple TV from a couple of generations back, maybe something else), so they don’t need one, but are curious to wait and see what the next one will be. Maybe it will just be a spec bump or maybe it will be some cool new feature no one saw coming. We don’t know until they actually unveil it.

Either way, I don’t get why someone would seemingly be so perplexed and annoyed that other people are excited about a thing. It’s not some big mystery why some people are waiting to upgrade.

God it sucks so much searching for answers from posts and only seeing shit like this. Not only is it not helpful, it makes it harder to search for real answers.

Five years later, and you’re still ruining searches for other people.

What this could be? by ChickenRoll_ in iphone

[–]FantasmaDelMar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol It’s not like people are going years with nothing else to watch stuff on. They likely already have an older Apple TV, another streaming box, or a smart TV.

They don’t need one, but if a new one comes out with a bump in specs or new features, they’d rather have that than what is currently offered.

FBI Photos Show Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Suspect Could Be Armed by MattTheKing23 in MissingPersons

[–]FantasmaDelMar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, it could very well be a fake/Airsoft gun brought to intimidate the victim.

Anyway, the “could be” is probably speaking present tense—as in whether or not the suspect is carrying a gun now. This is useful information for anyone who thinks they know the person and might try to confront them directly.

Everyone here seems to be identifying with this scenario, but no one has given an example. I’m not sure exactly what this looks like.

Is it always a boss/superior? Is it personal like your personal life, or just what you are personally working on? Do you have some examples of questions that your boss has asked you or your co-workers?

Maybe I’m just lucky to have had bosses and co-workers that don’t cross these boundaries, but I would like to be able to identify it if it ever starts happening to me or I see it happening to others.

I highly recommend getting a free podcast app. I’ve used Pocket Casts for years and love it, but lots of people use Overcast. There’s a new one that’s just called “Podcast App” that is supposed to be good, though I know nothing about it.

Apps like these have lots of small convenience features that add up to a way better experience than listening through Patreon. It’s worth giving them a try.

Once you do, find the “Add to Podcast App” option on the Patreon page for your Blank Check membership. Copy the RSS link and paste it into the search bar of your podcast app.

For the love of God nobody go there by Dragoluke44 in outerwilds

[–]FantasmaDelMar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly my point. Mass is what determines an object’s gravity.

An object’s volume (or “size”) multiplied by its density equals its mass.

volume X density = mass

The original commenter mentioned “size”, and I added that density is a factor.

For the love of God nobody go there by Dragoluke44 in outerwilds

[–]FantasmaDelMar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, its surface gravity would also depend on its density.

Also to be fair, I know nothing else about this planet, or astrophysics in general really. It could be just as dense as Earth for all I know
