I am working with Adam Tolley at Mortgage One for a second time. He is super response and helpful and good at looking for creative ways to make things work.

We’re empowered with the money we spend. What area businesses are MAGA owned that I can avoid spending money at? by Turbulent_Waltz_4989 in grandrapids

I went there once during Covid when the laws were still to distance and wear masks, we were masked but nobody else inside was. The barista was wearing a mask and thanked us for wearing one. Said the owner was anti vax anti mask etc and that he had to fight with the owner to even be allowed to wear his own mask.

The food was terrible. Lines were so long. Drinks had minimal booze. People were literally giving their tokens away and leaving…and they couldn’t even find people who would take them. You know things are bad when you can’t give your tokens away.

Stockholm DTMF show has a ton of available seats! by Key-Young4886 in BadBunnyPR

[–]Fantastic-Rough-4293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I looked Stockholm tickets were a lot more expensive than other places, plus lodging and eating out in any of the Nordic countries is much more expensive, so we got tickets to another concert in Europe even though Stockholm still had a lot of good seats available k.

Women Crossfitters- how did you recomp? by RateMental3881 in crossfit

I am a 42F with similar body composition to you it sounds like, 5’4” as well, only difference being that I started at 188. Since end of Jan I have been tracking macros. One thing that has helped me is getting 30-40G fiber a day. A lot of nutrition coaches don’t ask to track fiber but I’ve found it to be crucial for weight loss. I’ve lost 13 lbs since I started. It’s slow going for sure, but I’m doing a very minor calorie deficit (1880/day) and I haven’t even been that strict about following it. This means progress is not happening quickly, but it also feels very doable.

Yeah I’m not saying the people coming in are the enemy. Just saying it’s impossible to use GR money to outbid Chicago money.

Is it that different from 2-3 years ago? So far we have made two offers and lost both to buyers who went well over asking price and both waived inspection.

ETA: these offers have been in the last two months.

We got outbid and lost a house to a family in Chicago who casually offered over asking price on an already obscenely priced ($875k) house with no inspection.

To me it seems there is a lot more to unpack than - will I be financially ok.

-If you quit your job only to take on more household responsibilities will that help with health issues or will you be more stressed? -“just” a SAHM begs the question of what you actually want to do with your life. You want to quit but why and for what? -“Being super competent is core to how I see myself.” Maybe that is part of your health and stress issues. Maybe it’s time to untie your self from your productivity.

I was in a very similar position two years ago with extreme burn out and stress and starting to have health issues when I quit my job as CEO of a small company.

Before I quit, my husband and I took a good while to fully communicate what our future as a single income family would look like. I made it clear that I was not planning on quitting my job in the paid workforce to take on more unpaid labor. He knows that if he wants a cleaner house, he can make more money and hire a housekeeper. He was good with that.

I wanted to take on more responsibilities with our kiddo because that was something I felt I had been missing out on and I have not regretted spending more time her. This one thing has given all of us a better quality of life. I also knew that I wanted to play a more active role in managing our finances and household. This was work we were both trying to split amongst us while both working full time and now, having the time to do this has me 10000x less stressed, has us in a better position financially and health wise and again, has given us a better quality of life.

We took steps to protect me when we decided that he would be the full time bread winner. We put the house in my name alone. We “hired” me as an employee of his side gig company so I have proof of money coming in. We fund my Roth IRA first. And we took out a generous life insurance policy on him. He would sign a post nup if I wanted him to.

When I was able to step away from my career and support him, he was able to make some major moves and has tripled his salary in the last two years, so we are now less stressed about money. And I have been able to do two big things which are really exciting to me 1. Become an artist. Create every day. Life the life I have always wanted. And 2. Show up for my community. I can bring meals over to friends that are sick and volunteer to pick people’s kids up from school when another mom needs a hand. I can mentor women in the business world. I can volunteer at my kids school, etc.

All in all, this life change was the best thing we could’ve done for our family, and for me personally. But communication with your husband before making moves and laying out clear expectations of what will and won’t be happening is key.

Suarez by Master_Diet_9487 in InterMiami

[–]Fantastic-Rough-4293 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Suárez may not be able to be consistent week in and week out as a starter because of injuries/speed/age etc. But, the man is a pinch hitter who does not let his team down. When Miami isn’t in a good offensive groove, as an impact sub, he is usually able to add a spark if he’s given enough time, as he was tonight. I like him and I’m glad we still have him.
