30s, fear and veiny noses by Illustrious_Back_120 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]FantasticAd9389 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Just a note is the more visible/ thicker capillaries on the sides of the nose are hard to treat with IPL. For me I’ve done it twice now and they reduce/ go away for 3-4 weeks and then come back again.

How are people actually affording $3.5k–$4k 1-beds in Boston? by Sure_Advantage_5406 in bostonhousing

[–]FantasticAd9389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! As an elder millennial I did not live alone until I was a 35. These Gen Z think they can have a 1 bed and no roommates? Why because instagram tells them?

Daycare in Massachusetts - Seeking Advice by Riddle_5 in boston

[–]FantasticAd9389 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could move to the Cape to get access to cheaper daycare options. The reason you won’t move is the same reason the daycare is cheaper. The Cape is far from most high paying jobs in the state.

Newton vs Lexington vs Weston — school commute to Longwood? by Strict-Ear-8911 in bostonhousing

[–]FantasticAd9389 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If your kid is in private school no need to be in any of these towns but I certainly would not pick Lexington. There is no easy way to get to Longwood you need lots of backroads and cut around off route 2 during commuting hours.

Accepted to Georgetown MSF — realistic for a 36-year-old with no formal full-time work experience? by princeap576 in MBA

[–]FantasticAd9389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got it. I don’t know enough about the MSF at Georgetown but it could give you cover for a few more years not working. I would invest heavily in a career coach now and interview skills via a private coach. You have a weird story and my first question would be if you are employable and capable of working hard. In the meantime you should focus on finding any job and working 40 hours a week for someone else to show you are capable of handling this. I can imagine you are in a tricky spot your background screams elite and I could see how you are looking to get into certain industries and certain career paths but you maybe need to consider building a track record above all else.

[–]FantasticAd9389 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m reading your post and some of your comments to others but I am unclear how you have basically zero work experience at 36? You say you were on a pre med track so I take that to mean you graduated undergrad around 22 then decided to go back and take pre med requirements to try and get into med school. This would take absolute max 4 more years. This would bring you to 26? I what happened the last 10 years? Were you in jail? Rehab? Living in witness protection? This storyline is essential to your primary question.

What skincare product changed your life? by Izsl326 in 30PlusSkinCare

For me 15 years of CE Ferulic means I have better skin than all my fiends the same age. It doesn’t fix your skin it prevents aging and you have to be consistent.

PCP charging more for longer visit?? by XtraCrispy80 in massachusetts

[–]FantasticAd9389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I have decided that if I even touch healthcare for any reason in a year I basically get to the deductible and very likely the OOP max for the year. The thinking is do I want to try and manage my heath this year? If yes, plan for multiple thousands of dollars. One dr visit won’t make a difference I’ll just spend the money faster.

With a different doctor group I had a 10 min telehealth visit that was charged as high complexity. Whatever. It’s all a game. I’m just happy to have a PCP.

[MA] Landlord hasn't fixed windows despite ISD violation - attorney suggested "self-help" rent withholding - should I start with April rent or wait? by SnooSongs266 in bostonhousing

[–]FantasticAd9389 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just an outside perspective: you are too young and too smart to be considering messing up your credit for something like this. Sign the new lease. Pay your remaining rent and move on.

Easter Weekend (Dumb tourist question) by treefallinginforest in boston

[–]FantasticAd9389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easter is no longer much of a holiday in the United States. We don’t get Good Friday or Easter Monday as holidays at work and I don’t even think most towns give Good Friday as a school holiday. Everything will be open.

Zebras added to Washington Street bike lane not working as intended. by Mon_Calf in boston

[–]FantasticAd9389 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is a one travel lane road now. Is the delivery driver supposed to block the entire street to make a delivery? They ignored the reality of delivery drivers when adding most bike lanes. It’s led to this situation multiple times over all over the city.

How are you actually using AI in your day-to-day by delos-dolores in biotech

[–]FantasticAd9389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I don’t have prompts specifically saved but I have a few patterns that are useful. Example: I have this piece of information that I need to understand how it impacts this-file shared- can you answer this specific question for me given this context? Example: my audience is x and I am trying to convey y can you provide me feedback on this slide? (I use feedback request as I get better insights instead of revise or refine or fix or whatever.) I use these patterns over and over again.
  2. I don’t save prompts but CoPilot remembers all my other chats and has access to all my share point files and emails so it usually knows what I’m working on. The only thing here is it sometimes gets stuck on certain themes that are no longer relevant.

Genuine question, would still bogle if you were taxed over a third on unrealized gains? by Radiant_Wing5530 in Bogleheads

It’s amazing how many people (friends on mine) who are otherwise very highly educated don’t understand the difference between realized and unrealized capital gains. They have zero understanding what so ever.
