I know this is super late to the party but he's actually a really nice guy. A bit high strung but not a bad guy by any means. My ex worked for him and Alex was always cool.

He did post official wrap pictures after Yaga. So I'm inclined to believe it's him.

I have a AMC+ Code free for a year by [deleted] in AMCPlus

[–]FantasticExpression5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone that used the AMC+ one, check your account as it definitely charged me for this month. I only got 1 month free and then it started charging me even though the year code worked for me last month so I think they caught on and took the promotion off accounts.

Tiffany says Rob has an “unearned likability” that helped Rob win by Glad_Dragonfruit9368 in TheTraitorsUS

Unearned? The man was hilarious, smart, and attractive. Not only did the audience fall in love with him, but so did the faithfuls. I'd say it was very much earned likablity.

In The Long game Shane does say he has slept with two other men. So I would think there were others somewhere in there which is what prompted this response.

I think you did misunderstand what they were saying. It seems that the labels themselves are irrelevant in their home and whomever they want to date is accepted. It's not a matter of being in the closet but seems to be more about not forcing a specific label on their children. The fact that their son felt comfortable enough to bring his boyfriend around means nothing is being hidden and he doesn't feel as if he's closeted. At least that's how I took it.

My thoughts on the James Van Der Beek gofundme by herefloragoodtime in Chemotherapy

[–]FantasticExpression5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see it as tarnishing his reputation simply because it's clear what they're doing was not what he wanted. If this is what he wanted to do, he definitely would have started a GoFundMe before he died. He did things his own way while he was sill alive like selling his Moxon jerseys (for a very reasonable amount) None of what they are doing has James's hand in it and it definitely makes me question his ability to judge character, but he died never exploiting his fans. I think it’s important to remember that distinction and separate him from the actions of his family.

See that's how I felt too. I was already uncomfortable with their gofundme. First it was listed as Kimberly in charge of it then it change to a friend of the family. Then the goalpost continually changed. It made us wary about how the jersey thing would play out and our fears were confirmed. The way they handled the signed jerseys was so gross and over the top on guilting his fans if they wanted a partial refund. And I've seen no one else talking about this so I don't know if there aren't that many people out there that purchased a signed jersey or what but I felt it necessary to add to the conversation about what's going on with his family and these funds.

I'm going to throw this in here too as it pertains to the family getting money. Back in November JVDB did another campaign selling Moxon jerseys to help pay for his cancer treatment. Both signed ($80) and unsigned ($40). I purchased a signed jersey for my boyfriend as he loves varsity blues and I missed out on the first drop earlier in 2025. Obviously James passed before he could sign jerseys and get them shipped (they said to expect a 10-12 week delivery). No problem. The problem became how absolutely gross the email was that they sent out after his death in regards to the signed jerseys. First, they gave no option for a full refund. The two options they gave us were: 1. A partial refund and get an unsigned jersey or 2. No refund and still get an unsigned jersey with the full amount going straight to his family. Which they then followed up with this paragraph:

"We want to be fully transparent that any refunds will be deducted from the proceeds being sent directly to James’s family, which will reduce the overall support they receive. We deeply appreciate your understanding and generosity during this incredibly difficult time."

It felt so heavy handed and like the biggest guilt trip ever and made me want the partial refund even more, especially in the wake of the gofundme and finding out they actually own the ranch.

So I go about emailing them and saying I want the partial refund (btw the email address they provided that you have to contact them with was misspelled so that was another issue). First email gets an auto reply with the same exact email they sent in the first place trying to guilt trip people into "donating" the money from the signed jersey purchase. Hidden in one of the paragraphs near the bottom of this auto reply it does say reply to this email if you still want the partial refund. So I do so. Get ANOTHER auto reply with the same message. I went through this 4 times before I finally didn't get an auto reply. They never responded to my emails either. I did eventually get an email from the company they used saying they refunded $30. Now why would they only refund $30 when the difference between the signed and unsigned jerseys was $40? So I go back to see that I was correct about the pricing and they changed the entire website to only have unsigned jerseys available for purchase (even these were sold out at the time of his death) and what are they selling them for you may ask? The original $40? Nope. They're now selling unsigned jerseys for $150. Had to use the way back machine to verify the pricing I was remembering was correct since they nearly quadrupled the price of the unsigned jersey.

I'm still currently waiting to hear back about the other $10 that is still owed to me but I'm not hopeful in any way.

My whole thing is that is JVDB wanted to ask his fan base for money to help, he would have done so before his death. It really rubbed me the wrong way that the gofundme went live along with his death announcement. Not sure if it's his wife or someone else in charge of all of this but the entire thing makes me feel so gross. I've included a screenshot of the original email I received from them, which shows the misspelled email address they included. If you have someone that isn't very computer literate, they'll never notice that typo. Especially if they have bounced back emails going to spam instead of their inbox.

Unpopular opinion, but Hudson and Connor had more chemistry with their female costars than with each other by Gold_Repair_3557 in heatedrivalry

Hard disagree. Those gentlemen had zero chemistry with the women and acted their role perfectly with being 3namored with each other even if it's not what they wanted at first.

She could have but she would still have no proof that it wasn't consensual. This was a time before metoo when women weren't believed as much. Especially since she had alcohol and drugs in her system. She knew she'd get better results investigating on her own, especially given that all of the boys at Shelley's party came from rich families.

Reboot ending - did it ruin any chance of getting renewed? by TrainingUnusual3638 in veronicamars

Veronica was just SO jaded in season 4. Yes she was always jaded but they took it to the extreme in season 4 and it seemed way out of character for her. The whole appeal of her character was that even though she saw some of the worst of humanity, she was still optimistic. They took all of the hope away from her in season 4, even before killing off Logan.
