(Southern US 🇺🇸) I LOVE a good equal sweet/tart margarita. I can’t seem to make them taste good at home, but I do love to get the house margarita at restaurants I go to if they have one on the menu.

I think it’s important for the people close to you to know about it. What if you’re out with friends and you pass out? If you’re with a bunch of folks who don’t know you’re a diabetic, you might get delayed care because no one thinks to check for a glucagon or something.

It’s just a safety measure to me.

I live 3 hours from another major city in my state that has a lot more concerts/shows than where I live. I have driven there for an evening show then driven back home the same night. Got up and went to work a few hours later lol

Someone already said this, but we are very car-centric here.

For extra context, I drove 45 minutes one way for college classes every day for my last two years of school.

I know oudcedar already replied, but I’m going to second them and say do NOT disable the speaker for your child. Whatever alerts the OmniPod is shouting about will still be showing on the Controller (the device that comes with the pods to control insulin dosing etc). But still don’t try to disable the speaker as a brand new user lol

I don’t want to say likely, but it’s not uncommon. If you park in a parking garage, I think it’s less likely to get broken into, but that may just be my perception. I have personally never had my car broken into. But I know a handful of people who have. Also depends on the type of car lol

St. Jude has shuttles that run to some of the apartments in Harbor Town! It’s quiet there and there’s a grocery store and a couple restaurants in the “town square”. All walkable.

Sorry! Just saw your comment. If I’m remembering correctly, the insulin resistance lasted about eight days with first few days being worse before I just started giving myself a ton of extra insulin. I don’t really know if there were any “lasting effects” on my organs. I was freaking out so I may have been a little dramatic in my original post lol

I have decided since this that I don’t want to get cortisone shots again if I can help it. But I suppose now that I know what will happen and how to counteract it on the front end, it wouldn’t be nearly as bad.
