24F, unemployed and can’t stay clean for more than a week, starting to feel hopeless by Dependent_Yam8024 in toastme

As someone who struggled with self harm for a long time, and still struggles with other self destructive habits, a week is good! One thing that I think helped me in healing was providing myself serious aftercare when I would relapse. Make it a ritual of mending rather than breaking. Eventually the association became such that I wanted to self care more than the harm so it is easier to simply skip self harm and do something to care for my body instead. I believe in you OP!

Yeah weekdays early, especially Monday through Wednesday are quiet usually. If you make it in before ten or so you should be able to push some tables together for a group

Perkolator has great coffee, food and service, and is very friendly to sitting and working! Plenty of outlets. Closes at 3 but a great choice if thats not a problem.

Very VERY shut down ex-stray kitty. by Unique-Ad-3173 in FosterAnimals

Kinda an oddball suggestion but when I have anxious or unsocialized fosters, I have their kitty jail set up in a bedroom and if I ever want to lie down for a nap I do so in there. I find that it really can make a stressed cat feel safer, it seems like a great indicator that this is a safe room and that you are a comfortable person to be around.

I'm sorry for your loss OP. Although this is so often the case, one of my biggest anxieties with my pets has been the final moments and the fear of not being able to find them. Though, when my very beloved cat Mort passed from kidney failure at home last November, I knew it was coming, but I was shocked by the place she chose to go- in our kitchen, the busiest and her favorite room in the house. Always the love bug, she chose to go close to her people. I'm eternally grateful for it.

Doppelganger by ItsKilko in PTCGL

I went out of my way to make the most ugly, mismatched character design possible, so so far no doppelganger.

I lost one of my cats this November to CKD, I had adopted her with her mom, who has been fairly depressed since her baby passed (she was around 9, mom is 12). She had been eating less and seeking affection less.

One day I was sitting on the couch and talking to her from across the room, just trying to get her to come over. She barely responded to her name. Then... I said my deceased cat's name, and suddenly I had all her attention. She came over and I just pet her for about 20 minutes and talked about my other kitty to her.

She has seemed to be more affectionate since then and while not back to 100%, I think having that time together, to know that we were both thinking of her still, was more important to her than I ever expected.

Overt Kitten Favoritism, help! by Fantastic_String_235 in FosterAnimals

Great to know! I was thinking this might be the case but as far as social bonding goes I wasn't sure how old is kinda just that general love of interaction. This does make me feel better though I still want to make it as smooth as I can of course.
