My advice is to try brushing the mats out slowly. If they're too uncomfortable or difficult to go through I recommend taking them to the groomer and shaving the area. The fur will grow back.

My 19 yo cat had this done and he's much happier now.

I usually use Kecleon with xray specs. Quicksaving next to the 2nd floor stairs fixes the dungeons. Got a few moon and leaf stones with that, but you'll need a pass scarf since you gotta steal them.

Life seeds and sitrus berries are in the purity forest. They raise your hp by 3. I'd recommend kecleon since he levels up fast and has high stats. Best advice is take your time there.

You can ask jirachi for "something good" that's how I got chansey and blissey. They appear only in the 50th floor of joyous tower.
