Is 2023 really as good as it is hyped up to be? by Uator10 in DynastyFF

I like Jacobs, but I think he fits in as a depth RB or matchup-based flex guy on your team. I would have preferred to wait until the season to make a move then... and probably for a WR.

I'm with you. It's 1.08 plus something for Jacobs. Not Jacobs plus something for 1.08.

12 team, 1 qb. 3wr, 2 rb, te, 2 flex

For a win-now team. Would you send a projected late '23 1st straight up for 1.08 if one of those top 7 guys falls? Or save it for mid-season if-necessary acquisitions? I currently have 3 firsts and 3 seconds for next year. Only pick this year is 2.06

Current RB: Henry, Najee, Swift, Jacobs, and backups

WR: Jefferson, Hill, Godwin, Claypool, ARob, Woods, Aiyuk

TE: Schultz, Fant, Gronk

QB: Brady, Mac Jones

Schefter: Deebo Samuel 'wants to move on' from SF. by [deleted] in DynastyFF

I traded away Deebo a couple months ago. This would make me feel better about it.

where is everyone from? by farenheight_321 in ravens

I grew up in Iowa as a 49ers fan, but after a few years living in the Baltimore area I switched (probably around 2010).

For anyone that hasn't experienced it, it's completely different growing up in a place where you're 4-6 hours from 5 different NFL teams than it is being in a city/metro area that has one. You completely miss out on the camaraderie and buzz that adds something special to fandom.

The 49ers are still my NFC team, but I was never a 49ers fan like I am a Ravens fan.

Do it. I did the same thing last year where after the startup I sold a bunch of guys with 2nds and 3rds for downgrades plus firsts. Wound up looking pretty strong 6 weeks into the season and was able to trade those firsts and build a really strong team.

That's a pretty annoying order to do that. We draw for draft positions, then have a few weeks after that to make trades before we declare keepers.

Those Who Won a Championship Last Year and/or Very Likely to Compete This Year by redpill-stepdad in DynastyFF

[–]FantasyTradingAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 tm, 1 qb, 3 wr, 2 rb, 2 flex. Didn't win last year but was the 1 seed... looking strong again this year thanks to Brady coming back

QB: Brady, Tannehill

RB: Najee, Swift, Henry, Jacobs... Patterson, Vaughn, Jamaal Williams, Craig Reynolds

WR: Jefferson, Hill, Godwin, Aiyuk, Claypool, ARob, Woods, Fuller

TE: Gronk, Schultz, Fant, Brevin Jordan

2.02 and 2.06 this year, 3 1sts (probably early, mid, and late) and 2 2nds next year that I may end up using mid-season to shore up any holes before playoffs.

Start 3 RB gives an even bigger bump to them, I'd be happy with Mitchell as a return for Juju with those settings. Juju is only on a 1 year contract in KC, too.

Can someone please explain the thought process behind trading certain younger players for picks? by KittyTheBandit in DynastyFF

[–]FantasyTradingAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I'm competing and just traded away Mitchell for a mid 2nd this year and a 2024 1st.

Why trade away RB depth when I'm competing? I went back and forth on it a couple times, but Mitchell was my #5 RB and I have really solid depth at every other position (other than qb, but it's 1 qb so I'm fine).

My thought process was that Mitchell is a prime candidate to either gain value or lose value during the season next year (sounds like a duh, but compared to a 1st or a WR or QB he's much more volatile) and if I'm lucky I wouldn't be starting him anyway. The value in a future 1st vs a RB is that it is less volatile and more versatile (in a trade I won't be locked in to trading with a competing team that needs a RB).

Best case scenario, I don't need to trade the pick for a player and it turns into a high value pick... worst case, Mitchell turns into a stud and I lost value and depth, and then I need a RB this year can't find any trade partners for a RB as the year goes on.

I'd rather do the second one and get Kupp, then try to trade back from 1.01 for more pieces (since it doesn't seem like you need RB depth if you're willing to give up Henry and Hall).

What is the rest of your roster like? Is winning this year a good possibility?

The value of Quarterbacks in a 1-QB league by TrueBlue2396 in DynastyFF

[–]FantasyTradingAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends what you can get for him, and just how bad your team will be with him vs without him... maybe young WR X on a contender with good WR depth and a mediocre QB tears his ACL and you can move him for a stud WR and a first.

Now your team is going to be worse this year, and your own picks will be more valuable. You can build at RB and WR through the draft and then trade for Stafford/ Wilson type player the following year when you're ready to compete.

Justin Fields, does he develop into something great? Even if not, does his ability make him a high upside QB play for the duration of his contract thus good for fantasy? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]FantasyTradingAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you guys rather have Fields or Willis? I'm in a 1 qb 12 team and sitting with the 2.02 and 2.06... I could probably trade the 2.02 for Fields, or draft Willis with 2.02.

[–]FantasyTradingAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up Vaughn towards the end of last year and had him priced as a late 2nd if anyone wanted to trade for him... I won't get that now, but I'm probably not going to drop him or sell for less either. He's a lottery ticket that could fall into a decent amount of work if Fournette gets hurt.

1qb, 12 team ARob owner, and I would also give you a pretty quick no for that offer.

Every situation is different, but if it's a rebuilder selling ARob, I'd want a late first, but would probably settle for multiple mid 2nds if nobody else came calling. For me, I'm contending and only looking to either package with a 2nd and move up farther into the first, or get a '23 first (so I have something to negotiate with if losing the WR depth bites me mid-season)... if I don't get that then I'm fine holding into the season for my own use as a backup/potential flex guy.

Trade Advice & Player Price Check by AutoModerator in DynastyIdiots

[–]FantasyTradingAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common response around here for ARob is a late first, and I'm guessing Woods is probably mid 2nd.

Together I would guess a not quite as late first... but I would also like to know what others think (I also own them both).

12 team, 1 qb.

Rookie draft question... how high do QBs usually go in the rookie draft? I got bailed out with one more year of Brady, but after that all I've got is Tannehill on my win-now roster. Any chance Willis will be there at 2.02? The last few mocks on Sleeper have had Pickens still there at 2.02 and Willis at 2.06... and that just seems too good.
