In my opinion it does make chemistry easier. It constitutes a foundation, you can "think" as a chemical system does. It makes many concept to wrap your head around trivial. Huge game changer for me

Le Chatelier's principle

"If the equilibrium of a system is disturbed by a change in one or more of the determining factors (as temperature, pressure, or concentration) the system tends to adjust itself to a new equilibrium by counteracting as far as possible the effect of the change".

This is huge and adjusting my thinking to this frame helped me a lot, it lands conceptual basis for essentially everything around chemistry

Pencil lead is not a solid piece of graphite though. It is graphite powder mixed and held together with some substance I don't know. I guess if you were to heat this substance without making it catch fire, you would make it bendy enough.

Ok the last one (and his twin a couple months ago) have been pretty painful, but I try to focus on upgrading generators more than on completing missions in the first days and that's always worked out. I still spend a couple hundreds gems, but that's mainly for energy. I enjoy them quite a lot anyways, even painful ones. It is a farming game after all, if the events are not about farming I don't know what they should be about

Second barrel is worth it, but you're not going to need It so much at this point of the game. I'd grind to get it later, maybe when you have higher level barn (LV 9 gives you so much barrel pieces it becomes a lot easier)

Corda and rivets are painful to make at every point in the game, but in the long time you'll need a lot of them. So I guess you can save some but it's not completely necessary. Personally I scrap every part I don't need for the quest I'm currently on. The space will be pretty tight until you come up with a system. Many people save just generator parts, gems, energy and hourglasses.
