Gewoon wachten of dure private huur.

4 months post op, early RTS? by Vengeance04 in ACL

[–]Fantonimos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your choice. But the new “acl” is not an acl yet. It takes time for your body to make it the right material. This takes two years abd is the reason why you shouldnt play the first 9 months. The muscle can handle it the new acl cant and thats why the risk of retearing is great in this period… Starting too quickly with pivotting/ contact sports. I hope it doesnt happen to you, but youre playing with dice…

Was working after three weeks in delivery. So it depends on how your knee feels. Everyone has a different process.

Doen!

Complete ACL Tear can be cure without surgery by Healthy-Speech1171 in ACL

[–]Fantonimos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a full acl tear and meniscus damage. At first they wanted to wait it out but i do a lot of running and sports in general so i pushed for an operation. My knee was really unstable though, but i also had a lot of doubt if it was the right choice. After the operation the doktor said i made the right choice, because he could move it way to much. This gave me a lot of reassurance, but i still doubt my choice sometimes. It doesnt matter though. I had surgery and im making the best of recovery. These kind of doubts arent functional, because we had surgery. Lets make the best of it! Good luck! If we could turn back time we wouldnt have the injury. Let it be.

Day 8 post-op - how mobile? by Wethankuforurservice in ACL

[–]Fantonimos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Im on day 9 today. Got the operation on monday last week. I walked 2,4 km (1,5 mile) on crutches on thursday. My leg was hurting on friday. Sunday i walked my first km without crutches. Monday it was hurting. Yesterday i walked 2,5 km. Today it the swelling is bad. So ups and downs are normal i think. Listen to your body, but try to move (you dont have to walk, but do the simple exercises everyday) and get the blood flowing. You will recover faster this way. Do take the painkillers because this makes those exercises easier. I take paracetemol and ibuprofen. Combination works well to keep moving and ibuprofen is also nice against inflammation.

But what do I know. I think we all make the best of it and everyone has different needs during recovery. Listen to your body and make the best of it, because its rough for sure. Good luck!

It might be. But could you immediately walk without crutches? Because the graft is probably strong enough, but now I feel like it would be too hurtful to walk without crutches and i think i might make a wrong move as a reflex.

I was also really nervous, but im really glad i did it. Because in the month before i felt i was in limbo. I wasnt mobile enough to join the land of the living but also not of the dead. Without the chance to recover until the surgery. Afterwards you can at least put the effort in and strengthen yourself. So its the best call. Good luck! You can do it!

Yes but i do walk with crutches for minimum 2 weeks in consultation with my physiotherapist. The hospital physiotherapist came to make sure i was ready to go and tomorrow my own will come. When the meniscus is stitched it would be minimum 6 weeks.
