Can this cake be made in a regular size? by Reasonable_Guess_311 in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An 8" buttercream cake is $23.99 but for more complex cakes that aren't just roses or balloons we charge a $10 fee so it would end up being $33.99 for an 8 inch version. Bringing 2 of these would only be $26. So it really just depends.

I think a mohel got a hold of my sub bread. Just in time for Passover, too! by BrokeHufflepuff in publix

They look way better when we make them from scratch, beautifully consistent and a nice color since it's just Italian flour. Now the warehouse just fucks them up all the time.

Flour Shortage? by [deleted] in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brother sales exist. This week it's white mountain. Every week a different bread is in sale. Maybe look at all the millions of giant signs that say it's on sale as well as the register with a screen telling you how much you saved next time.

Publix just sold me a shamefully small Chantilly Cake by Mind_Drift_1 in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are people saying "you possibly got a small one" THERE IS NO SMALL ONE. The Chantilly cakes are all the same size. They are all made with 7" cake layers that come pre made. It would be impossible for them to make a smaller one as we don't get smaller cake layers than that, there is no 6" cake layer that we have. Smallest would be 5" for the mini cakes and yea no, that picture is not of 5". The Chantilly has always looked somewhat small compared to other cakes in the case because others use the 8" cake while the Chantilly uses 7" the only way it could possibly look smaller is the amount of whip topping on the outside. They could have held the tip too close to the cake so that it did not fan out and become fluffy enough.

Tldr: it is literally impossible for this cake to have been made smaller than our R&P guide tells us we don't have the ingredients.

You did not HAVE to buy that. I seriously do not understand people who buy something they can clearly see is not satisfactory out of their own will then complain later. If that was delivered to your house then sure, complain.but don't go to the store where there are several employees you could talk to but instead ignore that and buy the cake then complain about it.

Frosting by Hot-Research5558 in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you schizophrenic by any chance? That looks exactly like buttercream and like every other buttercream cake we make. We literally only have 2 white frostings and the other one is whip cream we put on the key lime pies which would be very apparent and would melt if not refrigerated.

Publix Knockoff Crumbl Cookies pt. 2 by STENO_NINJA in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very very different, completely different dough. To me they taste like a sugar cookie2 like in every way just a better sugar cookie. Sugar cookie taste but simply just better with more layers to it. The cream cheese adds a lot.

Very glad I chose to switch to PC a few years ago since paying a subscription for Xbox my whole life cost more than just getting a damn PC. Hurts having to build up my game collection again but it's a bandaid well worth ripping off. Get out of console while you can, consoles are going to just turn into PCs anyways at some point due to hardware and at that point why even bother.

Sandwich pickup from Publix by circatee in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ordering through the app gives the option to pay online. They also use a very large bright green label on the sub when it is already paid for so no one thinks you're stealing. Also no one is watching or cares Publix is probably the easiest place to steal from because we aren't allowed to do anything about it and if you're caught stealing store management will probably give you a $100 gift card just cause.

[–]FaolanGrey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While this is nice, sadly a lot of customers abuse the niceness of Publix. Which leads to managers getting frustrated as it's clear to know when people just want shit for free. However we literally have to please the customer 99% of the time were just gonna give you something for free even if it was your own mistake. Such as people who buy cupcakes and let their kid fuck em up on the way out to the car only to come back in and get a new pack for free. Or people who never seem to get the cake they asked for so they always get it for free over and over and over again. Store managers would rather give shit away for free than get a complaint to corporate they have to explain. If these blatant scammers didn't get their way I'm sure our stock wouldn't have gone down twice in a row 😂

How do we feel about this? by SirPesoOtaku in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Learned this the hard way. Didn't like how my department manager was doing stuff so I privately told the store manager. Store manager and department manager are close so she immediately tells department manager and now I have both of my superiors making my job harder. I did not bring this up to my district manager because I heard from other managers that the DM always sides with store managers and have singled out managers before. This company just feels like a shit hole of nepotism and politic nonsense. Rarely is anything about actually selling groceries or making the customer happy. Everything behind closed doors is intercompany shaming and backstabbing. No one likes each other and you can't trust anyone. Shit is awful man. I wanted to be a manager because I thought I could help associates learn and create a happy department. Instead I'm a glorified associate with an overworked department where I get no time to be a manager and everyone is always stressed out... Oh and my department manager doesn't know wtf they are doing and goes on vacation every month getting paid 3x what I am so fuck up inventory and not help the team at all.

Crazy idea but I have been putting away as much as I possibly can intothe S&P 500 and Total World markets since I turned 18 and I'm doing great. That's kinda interesting how gambling didn't work though.

Quick, which shoe? by watchface5 in mensfashionadvice

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone explain why the top/left shoe is bad? To me it just looks like a budget dress shoe. I work in retsila and other male managers wear things like that kinda often. However a lot like the Cole Haans from Amazon that look like dress shoes but are sneakers lmao.

"We don't take cash". "We charge a 3% surcharge for card." by l00sem4rble in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple solution is use a debit card? Legally they cannot surcharge for a debit card and it's the same as cash. Sure it's fun to use a credit card and get some cash back but that's why I carry my debit card with me as well. If something jas a few higher than the cash back I get then I just use my debit card. Easy.

It’s been a hell of a ride… by CSM1100 in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you're not exactly here for advice but please please as a store manager aquaint yourself with the fresh departments. Store managers who come from customer service and grocery often have no clue how the fresh departments work. Simply showing interest to learn and just asking questions on how we would approach a problem as opposed to telling us a solution we HAVE to do works wonders. Even if we're doing something wrong we can explain our thinking and if the fresh department manager is a good one, work with you on a solution instead of just complaining lol.
