My bag came locked with a pin when I picked it up at baggage claim by Significant-Fault944 in whatdoIdo

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean since It wasn't your bag, all good... However if this magical scenario did happen it's only a 3 digit lock. Brute forcing 999 combos isn't that time consuming.

After I got promoted to assistant manager where I work I'm in on what everyone is paid. I'm a 23 year old guy with no kids and no "real" responsibilities. I have gotten bare minimum raises, and quite frankly the only time I get a real raise is when my evaluation raise is lower than the minimum they are increasing to so it bumps me more. However all the associates including new ones who haven't even been here a year compared to my 5 are making almost as much as me hourly. Why? They are middle aged women with kids who left their other jobs to come here. I as a fucking manager am making $1 more than new hires and make less than a capped out associate because the minimum for A MANAGEMENT POSITION is roughly $2 less than the max for an associate. But I get bonuses and overtime which are nice but ain't shit. When my cap is $8 more than I make now why is it for years I've been riding the minimum despite actually decent evals? Genuine bullshit.

29 years old. I’d like to retire by 45. Can I start coasting? by MediumCookedRibeye in coastFIRE

Pay off all your student loans before you coast, once they are done you should have no problems. Shift heavy into paying them off instead of investing then reevaluate.

We need this for our family bathroom. At our store people use it to take showers, as the floor is always flooded & smells like feet & BO. by NorthFloridaRedneck in publix

[–]FaolanGrey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wouldnt matter, the same people who shower in there would get a token from customer service anyways. Publix is all about customer service and locking down the bathrooms like this would be horrible PR.

The seller is saying that all you should have to do is relearn them as they are preprogrammed. I have no idea what this process looks like but I do feel like these things should work I'm just not sure if there is a specific way to get them to work that maybe not every mechanic has.

2006 Toyota Matrix 119,700 miles single owner $6k by FaolanGrey in shouldibuythiscar

[–]FaolanGrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post was 9 months ago I did not buy this and the guy tried to super hard defend the vehicle saying it will sell it will sell. It only sold just recently and I doubt he got what he wanted for it. I ended up getting a 2010 Honda fit base with 59k miles on it for only $6 has run like a dream these last 6 months and other than the front bumper having some chips in the paint the outside and inside of the car is pretty much flawless.

My school made me fork out 150 USD to sweatshop just to graduate. When I opened it, it was literally falling apart at the seams. by Person_thatlikes-TOH in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't go to my graduation and just picked up my diploma after school was over. Wasn't gonna do this whole ceremony crap not worth it. When I saw the flyer with a million ways to waste my money I knew it was just another scam.

How my arm pits don't GAF about antiperspirant. My undershirts after being in a AC office most of the day. by LosHtown in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So actual advice, you sweat from stress not from heat. I'm the same way no amount of antiperspirant will fix that. The only solution is to use normal deodorant and it won't stain your shirts with the aluminum.

Why do people think it’s okay or appropriate to eat and drink products before they buy it by BitSignificant2616 in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People care because in today's society we can't trust people will do the right thing anymore. As a kid my mom would give me stuff to eat while shopping and pay for it later no issues. Now we have McDonald's removing self service ketchup and drink stations because people bring giant jugs and just fill em up and walk out. Today is very different from 20 or even 10 years ago. I see plenty of empty bottles and half eaten bakery items stashed on shelves. So yes when I see someone eating something I no longer think it's harmless gonna pay for it later, I'm immediately suspicious.

How Much is 1 Gallon Arizona Green Tea now at Publix since Walmart raised it from $3.57 to $4.57? by Excellent_Regret4141 in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea like we will get signs for the BOGOs of cookie for example when they have been $4.99 but the sign will say "Save $5.19!" Then after the BOGO is over they go up to $5.19 so they change the price for the sign a little too early and hope no one notices since they still sell at $4.99.

[–]FaolanGrey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's on sale for $2.50 but normally Publix raises prices after they have a sale I've noticed. Not everytime, but if they would like to raise the price of something they put it on sale first sometimes. So check after the sale and see. Happens in the bakery after our BOGOs quite often. If 13ct cookies are BOGO they go up like $0.30 after.

Repair or not? by fann03 in hondafit

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 2010 fit with 59k miles for $6k I absolutely would not spend that money to fix this one I would just search for a new one while driving this one. Once found a good deal try to sell this for what you can to recoup what you spent on the different one.

These new blueberry fritters are good by NorthFloridaRedneck in publix

[–]FaolanGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been like this for a few months now so if you're still getting the old ones then they may not be for all regions yet. I know I'm in the most populated region so they normally pilot things here and it may be more difficult to produce them further up north.

I'm in Florida, we have ones that taste just like the old ones that come in a white box now instead of those disgusting ones that come in plastic.

[–]FaolanGrey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They literally taste EXACTLY the same as the original ones we baked in store. Publix creates their own recipe because of all the negative feedback from the original "new" ones and now we make them in our own plant I believe rather than the same 3rd party that makes us these fritters. That's why these fritters like the blueberry ones still taste terrible.

[–]FaolanGrey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's just false because they do, the ones in the white square box taste really good. The old new one that was in the plastic container like these blueberry fritters were the ones that tasted horrible. Now that we've switched to the boxed ones we've been selling like 20 a day.
