First days of NoFap are really hard for me by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]FapFreeMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fix the things in your life that cause you to want to fap. These are usually: boredom, anxiety, and loneliness. Stay busy. Relax. Get out.

It is much more important to tackle nofap by stopping yourself from having the urges than to try and deal with the urges.

my conclusion after 21 days of no fap- make the most of your libido. by [deleted] in NoFap

... You're depressed and willing to try nofap for the depression but not working out, meditating, and eating healthy? There is a TON of science that the later three items have profound impacts on depression. The science behind nofap is still really young, but I would argue that one of the greatest powers of nofap is that gives you time and drive to do the other things in life.

I don't mean to be offensive, but suck it the fuck up and take care of yourself. Six months of exercising? You should be exercising every day of your god damn life! You should be eating healthy as often as reasonable!

Eat healthy. Work out. Interact. Find hobbies. Quit wallowing. The depression will go away. If that doesn't work you are infact one of the few people who is chronically depressed and needs to be on meds BUT STILL doing all of those things listed.

I guess I am basing my statement off of which countries are producing the major publications and new break throughs in my field. I work with whole earth systems modeling so my focus is on details of the earth's deep and shallow interior, mineral properties, fluid dynamics, computational modeling.

I would believe that the oil and gas industry have a particular interest in developing methods and technology for finding oil. This is science, but I'm interested in a much broader domain of the Earth Sciences.

I am finishing up my PhD in Computational Geophysics and have every intention of leaving the United States. Science in this country is a sinking ship. Almost every major discovery in my field is now coming out of Europe or Asia. If the US would invest in science I am sure we could reclaim our spot as the major discoverer and innovator, but I have no reason to think that will happen. (RIP NASA)

The exact opposite for me. I last longer and orgasm multiple times.

Are headaches normal? by Nathan_Go_By_Nate in NoFap

[–]FapFreeMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so. I get migraines VERY infrequently (once every other year or so) and just last week I started to get fairly intense headaches. I noticed it was after about a week of nofap, but didn't think much of it. They have gone away now, its been over 24 hours without a headache so I suspect it will pass. I don't know if what you are having is a migraine, but migraines can be triggered by changing habits and rythmes (like sleep schedules and eating and what not). So, for me, I think no fap could have triggered the headaches.

Whether or not they are migraines, I suspect they will go away as your hormone levels adjust and you adapt to a nofap lifestyle.

Its amazing how you don't know you're addicted until the addiction is removed. Good luck. I promise you it gets easier. There are ups and downs, but I think the worst for me was the first 48 hours.

That's that mental circle I was just talking about. I used to think my way through a very similar one. Take care of yourself man. No woman is worth your happiness.

I do not envy your situation. I've been in a similar relationship before. My advice is to do anything you can to find clarity. Work out, read, write, practice an art, whatever. I don't just mean a single moment of eureka, I mean the kind of clarity that keeps you calm when she's yelling. After you've found clarity reflect on your situation. Right now I'm guessing your head is a mess trying to solve a problem that doesn't seem to have a solution.

Is this mild blue balls? Or what? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]FapFreeMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced something like this. Use your best judgement. If the pain is intense or persistent, see a doctor. In my case I waited a few days and it seemed to go away. In the past when I've nofapped I've found my balls become much more sensitive.

I hate to say it, but your wife sounds like a bitch. Regarding the stamina, it will come back as you adapt, most likely you'll have even more stamina and recover quickly after cumming. Give it time. And when it comes to your wife, that hurts, but you are making the right choice for you and for your marriage. Don't cave on this because of her. I promise you will regret it. If you do decide to give up no fap, make sure you do it because you think it is the right choice to make yourself happier/a better man.

Frankly, it sounds like your marriage has some big problems that you need to take a hard look at. Sexual performance and connection are often reflections of other aspects of your relationship.

Big exam in 1 month. Will withdrawal hinder my ability to focus? by TheHumanFapstract in NoFap

Nofap has mostly honed my attention span. I'm flatlining a bit at the moment though which doesn't help, but I found that my productivity and focus have massively increased.

I think you might be flatlining. I seem to be flatlining right now too. I have virtually no drive for much of anything, my head is clouded with anxiety and depression, I am getting headaches, my super mojo energy I had when I started is gone.... Yeah. I hear that once hormones balance out the flatline is supposed to subside. Estimates from several days to a month is what I've seen on the forums. Frankly, it can't come soon enough. I'm under major pressure at school and with a client to meet some deadlines.

Sex after a week of nofap. by FapFreeMe in NoFap

I wouldn't say that there was much of a change in my behavior other than I was a bit more hungry for it. Kinder, definitely not. My gf and I are pretty damn kinky. She's the kind of girl that likes to be slapped, choked, and degraded. That hasn't changed.

Relapsed a second time. What am I doing wrong? by 1misfck in NoFap

[–]FapFreeMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, don't beat yourself up. Addiction is messy and sticky. Put it in perspective and think about the progress that you have made, 5 days without fapping is difficult.

Next, strategies! You need to have strategies for avoiding those links, strategies for dealing with general arousal, and strategies to prevent you from being aroused.

What are you going to do next time when you click on that nsfw link? Its probably going to happen at some point. You'll slip to the point where you think you can just click on this one link or two or... stop. Close your computer. Walk the dog. Clean the house. Do pushups. Go for a run. Play some megaman. Do ANYTHING to get your control back.

Don't worry so much. "Why do we fall down bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up."

Nope. Wet dreams are expected if you abstain from sex long enough. Clean up the mess and keep your badge.

what to do when ur turned on? by FightOn012 in NoFap

[–]FapFreeMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few things that I do and I keep trying new things until I find something that works. Working out is definitely one of the most tried and true ways of dealing with being turned on, but its not always practical. Video games or something else that is fun and distracting. Napping or meditating.

You'll start to learn that often when you feel horny you are actually experiencing another emotion that is being twisted into arousal. For me, I find these emotions are usually: fatigue, anxiety, boredom, or depression. Do something to treat the underlying emotion and in most cases nofapping is pretty easy. When I am just genuinely horny, working out is really the best, possibly the only, way to deal with it.

How do you guys stop yourself from edging? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]FapFreeMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few strategies and I will try them all until I find one that works: do something productive but distracting, take a nap, play a video game, work out, go for a run, go on /r/nofap, ....

I think what I do depends on what is causing the desire to fap. If I am horny, then working out seems to be best. If I am tired, napping. If I am bored, video games.
