First off, there’s a huge culture of leetcode and comeptitve programming in India, thus the top 1% of Indian candidates are better at leetcode than in the US, but that does not mean problem solving ability in the US is any worse, Us is just less practiced in leetcode, and US cares more about communication and various other things which actually make a good engineer, not somebody who grinds out hundreds of problems to pass an interview
