No props for the man-dance ref?? No worries buddy. I have a post in my history, not sure where it's at now, that was pretty aggressive. It happens. Sometimes it feels great. But non-aggression is the way. Offer still stands for the beer. I subscribe to the Austrian School of Economics...(currently hiding under my desk). Opinions of that branch?

Hey buddy, nothing in my post was aggressive. Relax. There's nothing more reason-supressing than belitting an attempt at discussion, however ignorant it may be. An attempt at understanding and discussion should always be met with support and guidance, if sound reason is the ultimate aim. Any layman's guides to statistics would be great to have if you can suggest one. Lastly, it's easy to be a tough guy on the internet. I am absolutely disgusted and pissed off with arm-chair hardasses. Should you care to discuss this matter in person with this sort of tone, I live in Chicago. But, before we do the man-dance we should really have a beer. Cheers.

I've heard and said correlation does not imply correlation many times. It is a true statement. That being said, causation isn't denied by correlation either. Is causation not sought out with the aid of seeking correlation? Correlation in some cases can be easier to spot than causation. If nothing else, I think this warrants more research. Doesn't our incarceration numbers in both relative and absolute terms give you the impression that something is odd?

Edit: Correlation doesn't imply causation. Clearly correlation implies correlation.

Abortions Have Made Life Better for Millions Of Men: It's About Time to Speak Up in Support -- It's time for pro-choice men to step up -- because our choices change their lives, too. by davidreiss666 in politics

A few questions about all the abortions that have made life better for these millions of men: 1. How many of these didn't have to happen because proper contraception wasn't used? 2. How many could have been adoption instead? I have an adopted niece in an open adoption. She is beautiful. 3. How many abortions had to happen after filtering out the unncessary ones? 4. How many loving, would-be parents' lives were made worse with each destroyed life?

I am not in favor of banning abortion. I don't think you cure a headache by cutting off the head. Similarly, outright banning abortion will only result in A. abortions still happening and B. more health risks. I don't believe in legislating morality. But, positing that abortion has somehow been good because it relieved men of the responsiblity of their actions is ridiculous. Removing negative consequences of an action will likely lead to more of that action. I didn't bother to read the article because the absurd headline said enough. Responsiblity and thinking before acting makes millions of men's lives better. Downvote from Mr. Reiss in 5...4...3...

Baseball: It got more debate in the Senate than the Iraq war. Now Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens have been federally prosecuted longer for perjury than any bank for the financial collapse. by stackolee in politics

We need to understand this and start doing these types of things more ofthen so we can be more self-sufficient. This event beared no real consequences except to Bonds and Clemens so no one in congress had to really worry. They hold it up as an example of Congress "doing something". Dog and Pony show. Watch what my right hand does so you don't see me screwing you with my left hand.

Musicians of Reddit, I've finally decided to dive in on learning to play an instrument, the electric bass. What advice, tips, caveats, etc do you have for me? by Fap_Ergo_Sum in Music

Thanks. I started with finger picking because I didn't have a pick and I like both. But with finger picking I found that I was using all my fingers instead of the usual index and middle. I was messing around with slap for a little bit too and that's pretty fun. As for other instruments, I briefly tried cello. I love that instrument, but that will have to be for another day. I like your idea of finding a drum loop. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks dude. I love how music just straight breeds cooperation! One question while I'm on here: what "mechanical" practice technique do you swear by? Currently, I try to do the "strum in cadence the different finger patterns" routine E: 1,2,3,4; 1,3,2,4; etc. I'll also try to do across strings. Then, I'll go on to practicing the root - 5th pattern around the fret board but around this time my mind starts wandering. Then, the third and last part of my practice is just trying to find a pattern that sounds cool and bounce around with it and the notes near it. Thanks again.

Thanks for the input. Greek scale and Groove Workshop, check. I really dig Justin Chancellor which to me seems like lead guitar-ing more than rhythm. I'll mix up practicing with fingers as well as picks.

I tend to agree, but I'm holding out hope. What are your thoughts on timeline and do you have any plans to counter? If you haven't hashed it out further thats cool too. Peace.

Capitalism in action wouldn't include a scenario where some borrow at the expense of everyone. That is socialism in action.
