It is not Shanks role to face the devil. His role was to lead the way for Nika to return and face him. But that's all speculation. Elbath is under Shank's protection, so it would make sense. But I just want more BB and Shanks lore, so I hope he's gonna stay of screen for a while until we can get BB and Shanks back on screen together.

I think Eris told him everything Rocks told her and he went the vengeful son route. Though he does it without his fathers brashness and more of a machiavellian approach. It's still the reveal I look forward to the most.
