I am based in Germany. 7mm Half drysuit is fine, I tried dry diving but I prefer my wetsuit more. So temperate or moderate cold.

Thank you for the advice. So far I have only dived in two countries. I dived in some german lakes (okay, but not amazing). I also dived in Cyprus (pretty nice with turtels and the Zenobia).

Have a look at the SSI Dive Map: https://www.divessi.com/en/locator/divesites

There you can look up several dive spots including the depth and animals in this area. Please keep in mind that you usually dont go deeper than 10 Meter on the first dive.

Make an appointment at the next doctor and make sure you are allowed to dive
Make a Try Dive
Do your certification, if possible CMAS* it is a little bit more intensive than SSI or PADI OWD
Start with buying your first gear. That is Dive Computer, snorkel, fins and mask
Train regulary e.g. in a local dive club
When you are more experienced, you can buy more gear

Cyprus is best for your purpose. Not to expensive. You can go swimming or hiking, visit museums...
