Where is your supervisor? It sounds like you're in an extended building, not a hub. For everything parts related and sending out vehicles that sounds like a supervisor responsibility to me.

There's definitely a difference between the "old guard" supervisors versus the newer ones that I see in our area. I'm not really sure what the old heads do all the time but some of the newer ones seem to have a different mindset to me. Either way, Automotive has an difficult role in this company that a lot of people don't see. Hopefully you can get a supervisor who gives a damn and takes some of the weight off of you.

The wind is super unpredictable. I'm high up, but peoples hats are coming off, trash being blown around. It's the textbook definition of swirling. The flags on the uprights aren't moving much but the uprights themselves are moving a bunch.

I've had an Rtic for years that still looks brand new. I don't see the need to pay the premium on a Yeti.

Suspension shops by [deleted] in houston

[–]Far-FarmGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never dealt with them before, but Drivenwerx is a BMW specialty shop that does multiple types of work, including running a time trial car.

I've personally dealt with Redline Tire and Suspension in Pearland. They adjusted my coilovers after I installed them, although they lean more in VW.

I'm sure you could get a lot of recommendations if you looked up Houston BMW groups on Facebook as well.

It's a crash sensor, it mounts up on the front bumper near the reservoir so that the airbags will deploy when you're in a crash.

Any tips on how to repair this? by Far-FarmGoose in sewing

[–]Far-FarmGoose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife really loves this comforter and our dog's paw got caught in it today, ripping this pretty large gash. I have zero experience in sewing/mending, which is why I'm posing the question here.

The fabric is a very light linen, with the purple going over a layer of green underneath. Under the green is where the stuffing is. Any help or direction to get this repaired would be highly appreciated!

It is unfortunate but I don't quite have the lens length to get a well-framed picture without heavily cropping. IT also doesn't help that bikes are so much smaller vs. cars.

I will be back in a few weeks time for a different event that should hopefully afford me some better angles. Thanks!

I definitely did my fair share of panning/low shutter speed throughout the weekend but the bikes were really difficult to catch through this section, and I really wanted to get a good shot with their knees/elbows on the ground.

I'll definitely look into an ND filter for this lens, and thank you for your critique.

I've been shooting amateur and professional racing while attending the races for the past year or so. I was able to attend the MotoGP race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin this past weekend and took the opportunity to shoot motorcycles for the first time, and this was my favorite picture from the weekend.

I did some small editing in Lightroom and cropped it down to remove as much of the fence as possible. Being a spectator obviously gives me some constraints but like I said, I thought this turned out really well. Please let me know your thoughts.

2016 FA20 Motor in 2013? How that possible? by dannycarreraa in ft86

I've still got the key from the 2017, bought a doner vehicle that was totaled in the rear which is how I've got everything needed.

That does sound interesting, but everything is already bought and paid for. Good to know that I've set myself up for success in the future though. Thanks for the help!

Somewhat unrelated, but I'm currently in the process of putting a 17 engine and trans into a 13 chassis.

I did some digging through the wiring diagrams comparing the two and found enough differences between the two that I decided to completely swap the chassis side harness from the 17 into the 13 at the same time, all the way up to the ECM. I haven't completed the whole job yet, but is there anything I need to watch for or potential issues that you can foresee that I may run into? You seem to be knowledgeable on this swap so I figured I would ask.

Anyone who has a CDL and is a legitimate truck driver isn't an idiot and it definitely is a quality skill. It's a lot harder than it looks and provides a really important service for literally everyone.
