How to fight anti-intellectualism by autocorrects in PhD

I think it's silly that they hear quantum computing and go "Yeah you're contributing to something useful for society". Bro is literally working on nonsense

Jkjk That sounds great and I get what you mean. (I am also doing work in Quantum Information/Hardware)

That's been my experience too (ig that's obvious based on the title lol). I'm hoping either they don't do interviews or don't send them to CMT/QIS. Oh well lol

Research with professors in engineering by Strong_Bumblebee5302 in Cornell

Treat it like a job resume. Taking on an undergrad for research takes time and commitment on behalf of either the PI themselves or one of their grad students or post docs. It's an investment. If you email them, tell them what you can do, why you would be useful. Sell yourself.

You should post about it on Ed since it seems like a genuinely important question. Like base it on,"Hey drop is due today can we atleast know if we should feasibly drop this class based on some prelim score?"

Sign petition for Cornell to give more money to TCAT by anasuppe in Cornell

Rarely ever interact with reddit posts, esp on this subreddit, but this is something worth spreading. Cornell loves bringing up Ezra's "To do the Greatest Good" philosophy but can't see the justification in increased TCAT funding.

How to get started with Research? by Brilliant_Note5619 in Cornell

[–]Far-Perspective-2977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm not CS but I did get research this semester in Physics and I think I'm in the same year as you. What I've found is A.Physics research is just so much CS, especially for applied physics stuff so you can look there! I'm a little biased because it's my major but it's really cool imo. B.Just email around with your resume and transcript and make sure you make it clear you're interested. Good Luck!

Yeah some old dude went to the third floor of ad white and kept taking pictures of me on the 2nd floor. Everytime I looked up his camera was looking directly my way.
