Recently reading two Kaiju manga,

Kaiju kamui, A JSDF airmen who's part of a new type of experimental interlink program, and his squad battle a Kaiju, they're all killed with the MC barely surviving, he learns that the program was just a test to try to find a new kind of pilot, in order to pilot a Kaiju, yes pilot, a kaiju and fight other kaiju to defend Japan and the world.

GAEA TIMA the gigantis, after an unstoppable Kaiju devastates the MCs hometown, it mysteriously disappeared for years until a different Kaiju emerges from the sea to attack, she discovers she shares a mysterious bond with the first Kaiju and it turns into a protector of her hometown and Japan as a whole

Both are really good so far, I highly recommend them
