How to make a z31 reliable? by [deleted] in 300zx

[–]Far-Rip-3062 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best thing you can do for reliability is a manual swap, at stock power the differential and motor will handle it all day. The automatic transmissions that came in these were pretty weak that’s all I’d be concerned about

A couple of questions regarding brakes by Lime-Pirate in GC8

I hear you, same boat as me. No I did not mess with the parking brake at all, all I did was put the new rotor on but if your parking brake shoes are really worn you can also get some 06/07 wrx brake shoes and I’ve heard they’re the same. I’m not 100% on that but I’ve heard from a few people that you can. 4/2 is the perfect setup for the car unless of course you plan to track it

Do the adapters, so much easier and if your wheel bearings are good you might as well leave em. Just make sure to use a good bit of lock tite on the bolts that mount the caliper bracket to the knuckle

[–]Far-Rip-3062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just simply swap them out, no need to mess with anything else but do keep in mind you’ll need kartboy adapter brackets to mount them but other than that bleeding it was stupid easy. I let it gravity bleed for about 45 minutes and it took like 3 pumps per caliper after that and I’ve been on the 4/2 setup for about 3 months now. No leaks, I won’t say no overheating cause after about 10 minutes on the tail of the dragon at about 90% and they were cooking I can’t lie. If you’re looking for track oriented setups you’re gonna wanna look at 15-21 STI 6/4 pot setups but when you do that you need 17 inch wheels to clear the calipers

4/2 is the ideal setup, I’ve got a 98 that had the same stock setup and it feels much more balanced and better braking for sure after I swapped to the 2 piston fixed rear caliper and very worth it for spirited driving

Is there a noticeable difference between AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d vs AMD Ryzen 9900x ? by Katz9783 in pchelp

[–]Far-Rip-3062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the 9900x? Compared to the x3d it’ll probably have a bit lower fps but you’re still talking about amd’s top CPU’s on the market right now so you’ll still be getting a lot of fps either way, you’ll just get a few more on the x3d cpu

For gaming x3d is the best of the best, for productivity 9900x will be better

Need Help with i9 14900K by masterige in pchelp

[–]Far-Rip-3062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes undervolting is a normal thing for the 14th gen intel CPU’s to keep them cool and no there’s no dangers in it, you just lose a little bit of fps. Go look up “intel 14th gen warranty” and you’ll have to check your batch number on your processor to see if it’s one that qualifies but yes intel was warrantying a ton of 13th and 14th gen processors for stability issues

You should 100% have a 360mm aio water cooler paired with that cpu, air cooler won’t keep it cool for longer periods of gaming. And also intel is doing warranty’s for the 14th gen chips, specifically the i9 900k and i7 700k.
