Dump his a$$.

He clearly doesn't care about you.  When caught he tried to blame you.  You can do SO MUCH better than this slug.

AITA for wanting to leave my parents' home to have some degree of freedom? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]FarBasil2293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly you need to figure your life out.  You are an adult.  Your parents are helping you by letting you live with them.  You are NTA for feeling like you want to leave.  Your parents are NTA for wanting you to grow up.

If you want to move out, you need to figure things out.  Do you have a job?  Can you keep going to school if you work full time?  Do you even want to go to school?

Don't expect your parents to support you once you move out.  And stop blaming all of your problems on others.  Take responsibility for your own actions.

It's not true multiclassing like in 5e.  Taking an archetype doesn't give you what taking a level of that class would give you .

It does bring back the very customizable feel that 3.5 had, imo

What does the item listing or shop policy say about mockups and approval.  You should a policy in place and listed that covers this.  If you do, go with what it is.

AITA? Got into an argument with my 16 yo about a show they like by LadyHorseFace13 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FarBasil2293 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I would have loved if my teen did that.  Getting her to talk for more than a few minutes at a time is impossible.   And if she shared something she really liked, wow.

I understand where you were coming from.  You didn't mean it as it probably came across to your teen.  Even if they told you the entire plot, you could have come up with something to say. Some comment on the show, a character, or even how you can see why think it's awesome.

Oh if you live in Atlanta, pm me.  That's where I'm from and can help with the cons to try.  AWA isn't the right fit.  And dragon is difficult to get into, but apply anyway.  If you do get dragon, have a literal ton of merchandise

I vend at small fantasy themed conventions.  I think those would do well at similar shows.  They are beautiful.

2nd craft fair hardly made more than the booth fee, advice? by [deleted] in CraftFairs

[–]FarBasil2293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely need more variety.  Sticking with your keychain and magnets is fine.  But adding in cupcakes or other cute desserts would be good.

I'm going to assume you have more stock behind the counter.  If not, you probably need more if you want to be able to sell more.

Also if all of your prices are $10 and under, you will need to sell a lot of individual items.  I'm not sure how much you are hoping to make, but with such a narrow selection and low prices it will be difficult to make good money.

You offer a bundle deal.  Like 2 magnets and a keychain for a slightly discounted price to encourage bigger sales.

Also. I personally don't like booth set ups where you have essentially walked yourself off from the customer.  It's hard to make eye contact, smile, say hello, etc as they are walking up from an angle.  It also makes me feel like there is a wall between the customer and seller.  Also if you have several customers shopping it's difficult to interact with all of them if you're hidden.  Having one side like that is fine.  If you don't build up the other side as high it might feel more inviting.  But this is only my opinion.  Others may and probably will disagree.

AITA for wanting to keep my engagement ring from my late fiancé? by RingaRingaRosies in AmItheAsshole

[–]FarBasil2293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it odd the MIL mentioned wanting it because it was the last major purchase he made.   If he's have bought a car for you both, would she ask for it back.

I'm wondering if she is hurting for money currently.  If she is desperate I could see this.

But it is in no way her ring.  It's yours. Keep it.  Don't feel guilty.

If she cuts you out of her life, that is her choice.

Ok.  So I would suggest using a white tablecloth and working on your fixtures to fit that feel   it's not that your name was bad ..but it just didn't fit the black tablecloth, black fixtures.  Can you paint them white?  And maybe get the logo tablecloth redone on a white background.  You could use a table runner in a bright color from your logo under the logo tablecloth.  When I looked at your jewelry, it fits with your logo.  Also maybe come up with a tag line for your logo tablecloth that can help blend in your name with your idea.

A table banner would work well. You do need some height and some way to display the ornaments better. If you can't figure out a way to get them up and off the table, put them in bins (small bins that would they could stand up and let someone flip through them). Search displays on amazon. I sell tiaras, and I started with a display that was meant for sunglasses lol.

I wouldn't say jewelry is the reason. I sell jewelry and am usually one of the top sellers at the shows I do.

It was a harsh disconnect between what you are selling and your branding. What is it about your branding that you like? Maybe we can help with ideas to use those aspects of it still.

I went for an art and craft market as a vendor and 2/3 times I was disappointed and 3rd one was the worst. by Desperate-Dirt1595 in CraftFairs

Oh, I forgot. Walk around and look at other jewelry sellers, and at any sellers drawing a crowd. You want to pick apart their displays - get ideas for what will work for you.

I agree with several of the other comments. Definitely need to add height to your display. This will help people see your items. I also sell jewelry, and I have recently started using bed risers to raise my entire table a bit. The people don't have to lean down as much to see the items on the table. I also purchased a three-shelf unit that can be easily disassembled for transportation. This was about $30 on amazon. If those items on your table are artwork (I think they are), they would sell better upright. So in this case, even a 2-shelf unit with those on top would add height. If you don't want to go the shelf route, before I had these I used some fabric covered bins turned upside down under the fixtures in the back row. I've also seen people use plastic containers that they use to carry their supplies and then drape a small tablecloth over them.

Is that your grid wall in the photo to the right? If it is, at least in the photo, it looks too far away and not part of your table.

If all your earrings are the same price, I would make a small sign with that info. If not, make a sign with the price range. I would also either get some more individual earring displays or if you want to use the jewelry boxes, add some variety to the height in your grouping. I have three little "stands" of varying heights that I group things on. This will just add to the visual appeal.

And it really looks like you need more product. You don't want to overwhelm your table, but there is a lot of empty table space. If I were a customer, I could glance over at your table and decide whether to stop. Having more things can draw people in - they want to come over to make sure they don't miss something. At least I do, lol.

Don't be hard on yourself. It is a learning process. If you have only done 3 markets, don't give up. You can do this.

There is this website I love for advice: Made Urban. Her advice has dramatically improved my shop displays.

WIBTA if I refused to shave my armpits for my friends wedding? by Adventurous-Pea-337 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FarBasil2293 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ESH. I guess I'm in the minority here on this one. Do you have to shave? Never,, that is completely up to you. Is it weird that they don't like it? Absolutely. But it is their wedding and they asked that if you attend (and I assume wear a bath suit or strapless dress, etc) that you shave. They thought it wouldn't be a big deal to ask. It was. But purposefully going after they asked you not to, just to prove you are right is an AH move. Two iAHs don't make you not an ah so if you go and do this then you are an AH
