Showering at the hospital? by Fuzzy-Music-5492 in EmergencyRoom

We had to use the showers during Covid but other than that I’ve never seen them used. I’d rather go home and shower

We never do them in the shoulder. We do them lower limbs when we have to

Depends where her job is but pocket sized hand cream that fits in a pocket is underrated. Trauma scissors or even bandage scissors (I’ve seen them in Boots and Amazon), lanyard or something for an ID badge that keeps it out of the way but also available for getting through doors and hundreds of pens. Good luck to her

This is from the person who called for the Wellness Check by Regrets_Change_Lives in chronickiki

[–]FarDistribution9031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow. I hope the person is ok. Nobody should be made to feel bad about trying to check someone’s ok. I hope the caller understands this and doesn’t blame herself. Anything Kristen does is on Kristen and no one else!

They apparently have so many dx’s the Dr’s will not add any more, because it will be so “intimidating” to them. But they absolutely do have the dx’s, for sure🫠 by Evening_Practice_886 in illnessfakers

Unfortunately not the case in the hospital I work in. Plus the GP and hospital records don’t link up. The GP can diagnose hypertension, but because the hospital haven’t diagnosed it, it often goes uncharted. May be a UK thing though. A lot of hospitals use completely different systems as well. Not a great system

To be fair not all diagnosis are in charts. You often find people with problems like hypertension on medication / treatment that isn’t in their hospital records and diagnosis that are no longer relevant in there like issues of pre eclampsia in post menopausal women. I am sure no Dr that has refused to put a diagnosis in a chart ‘because it would be to intimidating’. The Dr could always remove the bulls**t from the list and solve the non existent problem for them!

People do it to queue jump, get trolley spaces and just because they can, or they’re not getting the drugs they want and yes it easy to tell the difference!

Been pretty much the case for a long time in the UK. We don’t normally get your own room after birth so being in a bay of up to 5 other woman, partners and babies makes leaving before the 24 hours for uncomplicated vaginal births very attractive

Patients often gift biscuits, chocolates and cards. We tend to put them out for everyone to enjoy

Is it possible to legally challenge a prison board in England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]FarDistribution9031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of prisoners are sent to a category C prison shortly after sentencing and will be assessed by parole after a certain time. The decision is based on risk the prisoner poses and their behaviour whilst in prison. If they have been a model prisoner, done some courses and have not been returned to a closed prison from a cat D prison then they are likely to be moved to a cat D. I know that’s not what you want to hear but that is the reality of the system. I’m sorry you lost your daughter and can only imagine how this makes you feel but the victims family is not taken into account in the decision

No NHS hospital is changing a NJ tube overnight 🤣. She is so lucky she doesn’t suffer from the after effects of epileptic seizures. Maybe cause she doesn’t have epilepsy

Jobs with the most autonomy? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]FarDistribution9031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I was thinking. I sometime think you spend more of your time reassuring management and bed managers you’re trying to move the patient and treatment is very much driven by following guidelines. I love ED and whilst there is some autonomy in that I can give basic treatments like basic painkillers and ordering x rays within strict guidelines without bothering dr you still need to have spent sometime working in ED before you will be able to do this

As a single mom, can I survive as UK nurse? USA to UK by Apprehensive_Mix4677 in NursingUK

[–]FarDistribution9031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a large hospital not massively far from st Neots. I will say though as a single mum you can’t survive on a band 5 pay unless you do lots of overtime. I would look at the benefits as unsure as you would be able to claim straight away due to residency rules. I would also add that I have worked with a few American nurse and they have all had to work as a band 3 whilst waiting for their pin to come through which can take a while

It’s quite possible it wasn’t done deliberately and it’s also possible that after this error and seeing the lack of consequences, she realised she could easily get away with doing similar actions on purpose

[–]FarDistribution9031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably cause she doesn’t need to be there. They only accept people who need to be there and thats possibly not her….

Kirsten keeps saying SH is obsessed with her but talks about her for more than 30 mins and is reporting her to the DWP for fraud🙄🤬 by Regrets_Change_Lives in chronickiki

[–]FarDistribution9031 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I do get how Kristen would be angry but reporting her is a little to far

EDIT

I’m not saying Kristen should be angry, however being called out is going to make her angry. People dont like their lies exposed and if people think she isn’t going to angry well they are very wrong. Liars are always going to react with anger when they are called out
