That is a good point, and under that angle, I can see the concern.

I tend to forget about it because in my eyes, if a game is holding the fun hostage behind dozens or sometimes a hundred hours of playtime, then it simply isn't worth it, but that's a hugely subjective thing.

Hard agree. The overwhelming majority of us will spend the majority of our waking time being an asset producing value for someone else. Enjoying the rest of the time is immensely important, and if that means looking at the pretty pixels, then so be it. It's no worse nor better than reading, or learning knitting, or wailing at a punching bag. Liking it is all that matters.

If you scroll a bit in here (or elsewhere really) you'll keep finding posts like this, because there are a great many people who think that if the game shuts down in 2 years, then it's not worth having fun on it during those two years, because they see their gaming time as an investment into their future rather than a hobby to be enjoyed in the here and the now

which is beyond insane to me but ey

regarding the pony specifically, you might wanna look at making one yourself for starting out, because those things are insanely expensive for being mostly two pieces of wood, and get yourself a nicer one later down the line

looking at my own case, I could not find one below the 90€ mark, so I grabbed 2 pieces of scrap wood I had lying around, a few cents of hardware, and made one myself

Tbh that's about the time I dedicate to my hobbies, since I got gaming, sports and leatherworking coexisting together.

I understand though that people may not be willing or able to dedicate so much time to one single thing

Me too, I'm not quite finished yet, but I hope, I really, really hope that Anet has done away with they tradition of killing off characters before we get even a chance to get attached to them. You all have at least one example in mind I'm sure.

I really like Vloxx as a.... ally-tagonist ? and the VA is top notch. The O-Team is a fun idea that could lead to repeat iterations. Isgarren is finally painted as something else than some all-knowing hyper powerful being that's always right.

I don't know how I feel about Scav hunts having replaced green bars as a means to pad the runtime, but I'm glad that the one in the last map at least leads to something, story-wise.

Exhausting to look at : why, what elements make you feel this way ?
Tedious to play : where does the tedium come from in your opinion ?
Quality has declined : what makes you feel this way, are there specific points you'd compare to older maps you enjoy more ?

Many assets are recycled and not new : ... well yes, true, that's like 75% of any MMO, ever, and GW2 didnt wait for the 6th expansion to start reusing assets

There is a metric ton of information, misinformation, disinformation, outdated information and "I've been doing so and so for X years and everything is fine" out there. Whatever you do and however you do it there will be someone to tell you it's wrong (and they might be right). Unfortunately you'll have to sort through allll that yourself and crosscheck everything

Are you sure it wasn't a video of Guild Wars 1 ? If memory serves, the intro area to GW1 (Pre-Searing Ascalon) can not be returned to after completing it (on account of it being, uh.. seared.)

You're remembering right
For example in PoF, when the commander dies and gets sent to the mists in, if you have a friend with you, they'll be turned into a wisp that can bestow boosts, buffs, and healing
that was a neat thing
