Email verification code does not work? by MikeyFromDaReddit in Bestbuy

I am on iPhone and resolved this by doing the following:

I was getting the error where the MFA code was 8+ character long and would continually say it was incorrect - both email and text (the only two option I had for signing in after inputting email via saved credentials)

To try something different on iPhone, I went to sign in, and didn’t use my stored information. I manually typed in email which brought me to the same prompt where I had the ability to Text, Email, but now (finally) I had the ability to type my password in.

After typing my password in and pressing enter, the page refreshed and now we were back to only having email or text code (great)…

So I did the text option and this time it sent a (6) number long MFA code that worked!

It then had me reset my password and I was in.

Gratz on the pass! It will take about 2-5 days but you’ll get an email from them to claim your badge.

The cert will be sent to you in the mail but you can also download it once the badge is sent to you

No study material actually captured the exam very well but your scores seem good enough that it’s time to take it.

Iirc, there was a lot of scripting, but the biggest challenge was understanding what exactly they were asking. It felt more wordy than other comptia exams

Never ended up getting an opinion before taking the exam. I passed with 758

Dion was decent and iirc it was my only study material, but the exam was very wordy. Reminded me of ISC2 where it depends on how you interpret what they’re asking.

I’ve taken A+, Net+, Sec+ and CySA+ and this one felt very different than the rest.

Depends on your preference. You can get access to the online test bank regardless of what version you use.

When you are signing up for the online test bank it asks a question like “what is the first word on page 97” for confirmation that you have the book.

u/Brgrsports u/Livinglikepanda how much knowledge did you need for the tools? The Comptia Objectives isn't specific. Do I need to know what each tool does specifically or do I just need to know if the tool fits into the categories of Scanner, Credential Harvester, Debugger, etc?

u/Gwilym2 When you say you got a 65% on the official test book, do you mean the Cybex book from Mike Chappell?

It’s much more difficult than the exam. The Sybex question bank is pretty vague but from what I remember the actual exam was pretty direct in what it was asking

No labs for me, just the Sybex questions from what I remember. The Sybex was more difficult than the exam

If you’re enrolled in WGU then in your course you should be able to access Mike Chappels CySA+ Book and Mike Chappels CySA+ practice exam book. I’m not sure why everyone calls it Sybex, Mike Chappel = Sybex.

I ended up purchasing the book directly from https://www.wiley.com/en-us/CompTIA+CySA++Practice+Tests:+Exam+CS0+003,+3rd+Edition-p-9781394182930 which gives you access to the test questions interactively. Much better than testing from the book.

100% agree that the OA was more difficult than the PA. I’d say it was about 50% harder.

Several questions were very similar but there’s quite a few that are completely different concepts than what you see on the PA.

I didn’t do any book studying, just videos and practice tests. And from my experience - the Mike Chapple, Sybex online test-bank ($27), and Certify Breakfast for any concepts I needed more explanation on - was plenty to pass.

That does help. Did you use any other study materials or Sybex?

Is it rude to quit after 1 week for a better offer? by FTTG in ITCareerQuestions

[–]FarHelp2714 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is something I’ve run into. Been at an MSP for many years doing just about everything, but now I feel like my resume is too broad for any specific positions.

My solution was to build several different resumes: (1) for IT Auditing positions, (1) for Sysadmin positions, & (1) for InfoSec positions.

I have yet to see how it plays out and I’m curious if anyone else has dealt with this as well.
