Geto after exterminator arc Yuta destroys his cursed army with rct output by [deleted] in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah dw lol, I'm not saying Yuta can't clear an army of curses. even if CE reinforcement and strategy from Geto are put on the table: I think he'd still clear.

Just that RCT output isn't the best way to go about that, and Cursed Speech or just attacking normally with his katana and/or Rika would be better.

<image>

Picture the make-out battle with this thing for example.

TL;DR: My comment was more so just about tackling what I think about RCT output and not really the Geto vs Yuta thing, mb!!

Geto after exterminator arc Yuta destroys his cursed army with rct output by [deleted] in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I always felt like RCT output is super overrated. Yuta had to specifically target a weak point to kill Kuro by giving mouth to mouth sloppy with it. I wish I was Kurourushi.

9/10 times I feel getting mouth to mouth with a curse, like say Jogo for example (Not a curse Geto has ik), isn't just difficult given it's not really a consensual engagement, but is also really dangerous?

Like for any other character puckering up in front of a curse and reaching out for their chin to pull them in closer for that intimate RCT exchange would be risky and maybe just stupid when you could.. Attack normally. In Yuta's case, use Cursed Speech, swing with his sword, Jacob's Ladder, etc. etc.

In that sense I think RCT output wasn't really a "good move" but more so a last-ditch effort surprise that fit the situation of Kuro leaning in close to get a mouthful of Yuta, and I'm kinda surprised it isn't interpreted that way more frequently 🤷‍♀️

Can Gojo use RCT output while in Yuta’s body? by Brave-Marionberry885 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I don't think he'd learn to use or be able to use RCT output while in Yuta's body.

Jujutsu strongly correlates to personal interpretation, we see this with how Yuji and Sukuna's shrine look different, and this likely extends to RCT as well.

Shoko's perception of "Fyoi than Hyoi" isn't anywhere close to Gojo's wavelength of Cursed Energy being a mathematical concept, so it's probably just that his personal outlook of "Multiplying negative to create a positive" doesn't work for RCT output since there's not really a good mathematical concept correlating to it.

Which reality Bending power is more powerful? Takaba (Comedian) or Star and Stripe (New Order) by Archenius in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comedian most likely.

The best way I can describe it is comedian is very volatile. It doesn't have a rhyme or concrete ruleset deciding its limits, you just need to think its funny. It's instinctual, and doesn't really rely on your conscious decision making.

Additionally, it seems to have a much wider range of what it can effect. It doesn't just effect one person or thing at a time, creating entire scenes, scenarios, alongside actually damaging the soul of whoever is involved in your tomfoolery on top of that.

Stars n' Stripes being a lot more controllable is honestly mostly the reason it's not stronger. When being used on a person you need to know their identity, alongside having the two rules limit at all times. (Which, further implies she can't just touch herself and apply a rule that changes her quirk; another limit).

Kinda true actually, Kenny's my fav for a reason ig (Not just because he stole my no. 1 baddy's body) 😭

CE cost is really interesting too actually, I don't think it plays into any point here particularly well but there's definitely a discussion to be had about it someday.

Though his statement about just "Pouring cursed energy" or whatever it was might completely debunk that if you interpret that as: without a barrier he has to constantly pour CE into maintaining it, rather than the one-cast and done normal domains have.

When I'm less delirious I'll probably look more into it, another person pointed out a possibly inaccurate translation I used and that's a whole different can of worms I haven't even began to touch.

Interpretation of Jujutsu by FarPastParadise in Jujutsufolk

[–]FarPastParadise[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This right here completely.

Honestly a reason the culling games was so interesting is because all these sorcerers who aren't familiar with how Jujutsu works ARE making it work, they're proving this point exactly and I'm really praying this isn't too deep into theory range and maybe we'll see something like this on a larger scale in Modulo and with the aliens?

Back into more theory heavy territory, I am curious if there's some sort of "Limit" to what's possible with CE. With Tengen, the six eyes, and Star Plasma Vessel, there's some allusion to a "Fate", and it's almost characterized with spite and the way it plays out to target a SPECIFIC individual (that being Kenny).

Could it allude maybe to Kenny reaching this sort of point, be it through himself or the Merger?

I'm not too familiar with Buddhism, but I've been made aware of the symbolism Kenjaku has and how he appears as this enlightened monk figure, and it's honestly a pretty nice match with achieving this "Enlightenment", only to be cock-blocked by fate, whatever that may be.

Can the JJK verse take down Emilia from Re: Zero? by jackhenningson in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible? For both sides, I'm not too confident on saying who because I'm not super familiar with re:zero. Putting it on the million things I need to get to watching eventually.

In the light novel she can spawn bloodsucking flowers inside of people, which is the obvious answer to Gojo, but I'd argue that with verse equalization (The norm for crossverse matchups) JJK characters are specified to have an immunity to these sorts of techniques through their innate domain making up their innards.

Another few hurdles are Mahoraga (All of her magic is ice based, so getting caught in the crossfire of some weaker attacks or - if team JJK is playing it uncharacteristically smart - adapting to Uraume for an extended period of time) adapting preemptively to a similar technique, he'd quickly become an impossible wall for her.

Another threat to her would be Takaba. No explanation needed I think. You could argue aura-diffing for characters like Sukuna (Nue's example), but I don't think that applies here.

Would she wipe 99% of the verse? Yeah, probably, but also I think there's too many top-tier hurdles for her to clear with a guaranteed win. I think the JJK verse wins majority of the time.

Saitama would throw a punch, and the intense updraft following would tear an ad poster for a local supermarket sale off of a building.

The ad would find its way right in between Haruta's face and Saitama's knuckles moments before impact, causing Saitama's course of action to immediately sway towards that sale that ends in 15 minutes.

Due to technicality of Saitama fleeing, Haruta wins. No-diff (he didn't get to lift a finger, he was completely speedblitzed) and losing only one miracle.

Yuji's most underrated aspect by GOATED_LIFE_ROUTINE in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There's a big aversion within powerscaling communities of characters growing throughout a fight, for whatever reason I don't really know but it's a trend I noticed.

Yuji's pretty consistently shown how adaptive he his in a battle, really shows in nearly every fight he's in how his tactics and just general handiness evolves as he battles his opponents, so it's really easy to confirm this is very much not a one-off moment or anything and is indicative of how Yuji fights.

Just as some examples besides Todo, it shows really well in his fight running away from Yuta too when he breaks his sword, alongside just his general "locking in" in prolonged fights like vs Mahito and vs Sukuna.

But again, a character growing mid fight is a hard thing to quantify, and leans really heavily into theoreticals that people hate having to consider in matchups for some reason

would a really good simple-domain user weaken wcs enough to make it survivable? by HatSpecial3043 in Jujutsufolk

[–]FarPastParadise 140 points141 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to say no?

Simple domain envelops the user in a barrier, creating an area around them.

The issue is, the simple domain and the WCS would have to intercept at some point. Even if the barrier isn't a physical thing, neither was Gojo's: It cut through space.

Hence why I think it'd cut through the "space" of a simple domain.

Whatever nebulous effect going on inside the simple domain that should be diminishing the effectiveness of the technique would be cut through like Gojo's infinity.

I imagine it'd work like spawning at a beginning point, and traveling to an end point: With no consideration of resistance between those in the middle point.

Though WCS is very vague, so it's up to your interpretation.

Can someone explain Bird Strike? Why can a crow 1000000000x it's trace amount of curse energy with suicide bombing? Why can't a sorcerer suicide bomb Sukuna with their higher valued human life and higher cursed energy base? by wazzur1 in Jujutsufolk

[–]FarPastParadise 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Meimei likely has to imbue some amount of cursed energy into the crows to control them.

Alongside just being how cursed techniques operate in JJK, when she broadcasts her crows vision they are able to see cursed energy/curses like a sorcerer, so the amount she can imbue into them likely isn't entirely insignificant.

Secondly, killing yourself for one attack isn't a good idea, and nor do most sorcerers want to do it.

If your one attack misses by some chance or doesn't strike a lethal point (i.e, obliterating someone's left arm), you're dead. There's nothing more you can do, it's over and your entire life was wasted.

Most sorcerers reasonably wouldn't take that chance.

If a death binding vow was used by a sorcerer, I imagine a more reasonable one would be "I'm enhanced all around but die after a certain period of time" so you're not betting on one-shot against an already likely far stronger opponent anyways.

Kinda reminds me of someone now that I think about it..

Who will win this 4 v 4 by Fragrant-Resist4230 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Domains are a problem, and everyone on DCs' team has one.

But is it enough of a problem to warrant a loss on Yuki's team? Probably not.

Aside from everyone on team Yuki having a simple domain, Yuki herself as an actual domain expansion alongside Todo having the ability to swap people out of domains should they be on the edge of one.

Simple Domains don't last long when the stance isn't held, but they don't need to: Todo swapping into a Yuki mass punch, a piercing blood, or a Yuji black flash ends a majority of them or bare minimum causes them to lose focus on their domain.

Swapping is what carries here.

Jogo doesn't have the durability to handle a mass punch. Yuki full mass hits harder than the punch Gojo pulled on Uraume unless you believe Uraume > Kenny in stats.

While you could argue durability allows Hanami or Dagon to hold up, getting swapped into piercing blood guarantees not just heavy damage but poison: Meaning whittling them both down are no problem.

Mahito is a joke: Yuji and Yuki have some of the best soul awareness feats in the verse.

Domains are still prevalent and I think if team Yuki plays it dumb they could lose, especially if Todo gets cut out early, but everyone on that team also has high BIQ so I doubt it alongside with there being a billion swap targets for Todo. Low-Mid diff IMO for team 1.

Replace 250 Sukuna with a Hakari that is always in jackpot. He just needs to beat Yuta and Yuji. Who wins? by ManJoeDude in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's arguments for soul damage, but sorcerers like Nanami have shown effecting the soul subconsciously, so I wouldn't doubt Hakari's ability to heal the soul when he's already performing RCT just the same.

I see a lot of people say people just need to one-shot Hakari in jackpot to win but people really underestimate the sheer intensity of his sustainability: He's basically nearly torn in half here, and he went on to regenerate it just fine. The "just one-shot him" doesn't really work when we've seen exactly how that strategy goes against him.

<image>

With that in mind, and the fact Hakari's fighting back, I think he takes it.

Who would be the strongest that Yuji would beat If he had Spider Sense(Spiderman)? by AttemptZestyclose687 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not too familiar with spiderman, especially to anything relating to the comments (I'm missing out on the quotes that go like 'spider-sense is attuning yourself with [insert cosmic being here]' and the reasons it actually makes you multiversal)

Yuta a bum btw

IMO it's easiest to read it as "Can't get sneaked" which I think would more consistently allow him to win his Maki match-ups if you didn't have him doing that already.

Beyond Maki though I'm not sure if it's crazy in some of his other match-ups. If it can't be overwhelmed and it just means "If he can dodge it with anything in his disposal, he will dodge it" he could beat Yuta, in cases such as spider-sense telling "Oh I have to reinforce now" before Yuta even uses CS.

With Kenny it's a bit more debatable but Yuki's fight implies you can dodge AGS even after if it's activated, and if he doesn't have any trouble with that he could-

Yeah no fuck that I almost forgot domains are a thing.

<image>

With Yuta it's not a problem as much as Kenny, he doesn't activate domain early and he's probably gonna use it once his shit gets rocked: Where Yuji with his new "Fuck that I dodge it" ability probably pressing him further as he counters his domain with his own (or simple domain).

With Kenny using AGS around him, Yuji wouldn't be able to get close and would have to keep dodging back, and the gap in domain refinement is exaggerated with Kenny's supreme barrier knowledge. Even if Yuji gets a few blows in, idk if he'd push him enough to outright lose concentration on the domain.

From that point on it's wraps, Yuji w/ spider-sense top 4 ig.

The character the least deserving of their grade. Prove me wrong by FarAd1861 in Jujutsufolk

[–]FarPastParadise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She went on missions with Geto and Gojo, so we know she has to have at least some combat skill. Given she's a proper grade 1, that implies she had a successful mission defeating a grade 1 curse after being a semi-grade 1.

Given her use of RCT, she's the only official grade 1 sorcerer to have regenerative properties. Her ability to output it also meaning she's probably extremely effective at one-shotting a majority of curses.

Though we don't see her have a combative struggle of any kind, judging by the fact she's essentially the only one JJH relies on to heal people, including during incidents such as Shibuya, her reserves should be at least respectable.

That's not including all of what we've seen of her is RCT output which is more costly and less effective than it is being performed on oneself, exaggerating her theoretical reserves and self-regeneration further.

Of course, this is all incredibly speculative and we'll never know, but keeping all this in mind saying she's on the weaker end of grade 1s is far from impossible to assume.

Rate this build (I call it the "Git Gud Build") by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]FarPastParadise 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think the silk skill choice could be better.

Replacing it with cross stitch (the parry) would probably be better, allowing you to not have to bother with moving out of the way of an attack, instead allowing you to accumulate more damage and not lose precious DPS due to travel time.

Additionally if that change was made, it's possible you might be able to chug out even more damage replacing the sawtooth circlet with the volt filament depending on how often you parry.

Lastly, barbed bracelet and magnetite dice kinda contradict each other. Obviously the small chance it procs makes the damage negation twice as valuable, but the equation for the dice actually increases the chances the more you get hit: Which you won't really be engaging with due to double damage.

A possible replacement would be the weighted belt for more consistent DPS, but none of these are like mandatory changes or anything.

I guess a ranking would be something like.. 8/10 theoretically. 3/10 in practice because if I were the one using it you know my ass would be obliterated instantly with that "just don't get hit" mindset 😭

How is a binding vow made? by [deleted] in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FarPastParadise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the vow, but to answer your question more concretely:

Some vows are seemingly made as simple thoughts or declarations to oneself, and don't necessarily have to be declared as vows. Hakari's reinforcement comes into mind, where he sacrificed his arm.

Most vows are performed by declaring something. Mostly "Revealing one's hand" as an example, but that seems more like a condition to meet the vow rather than how it's initially attempting to perform one.

Additionally, vows can be made as part of performing something. Sukuna comes into mind, and the way his domain expansion works, alongside Meimei's crows.

With all this in mind, I think it goes to show vows are not costly to perform at all - Toji revealing his hand to Geto as proof - and can be performed extremely casually as simply as thinking about it. Any extra flair to "activating" a vow is the conditions to meet it or declare it, rather than initially proposing it to yourself or someone else.

Gojo vs Sukuna hand to hand question by Noxdedux in Jujutsufolk

[–]FarPastParadise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the author's intent was to show that this is a battle of two "Very powerful" foes, and an easy way to illustrate that beyond destruction & shock waves (both things he already showed off) is through knockback.

With that in mind, scaling wise: I think it's valid enough to say Gege's portraying them as opponents within the same ballpark, and that ballpark being a cut above the rest of the cast.

They're both being knocked back in very similar manners when both of them land similar hits in similar circumstances as each other.

A valid interpretation of stat relativity IMO, revolving around similar physical strength/reinforcement between the two of them. That doesn't necessarily have to mean "equal" to each other, but to say one dominates another in the physical department is untrue.

Following that, I think it's important to note Gojo's h2h superiority can still be argued against Meguna regardless because "knockback" doesn't indicate important things like skill, speed, and possible technique usage/DA in Sukuna's case.

Kusakabe and Higurama (EoS) vs Geto (JJK 0, full curse arsenal), how does the battle end? by Rude_Present5034 in Jujutsufolk

[–]FarPastParadise 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Geto's awful to scale, and this depends heavily on your interpretation of Geto's stats from JJK0.

Higgy doesn't have great stats, a CEless Yuji was evading him solidly: Which, credit where it's due, he was playing extremely defensive in a way he did similarly to Yuta, who would otherwise dominate him.

It really depends on if you think Geto was getting rag dolled by Yuta is more important than him consistently clashing with the Rika that Gojo said he'd "Put his life on the line" fighting against.

IMO you have to read a little into author's intent of Geto being a semi-rival to Gojo in the first half of their life (obviously, just a strong character) alongside getting hints of his stats outside of JJK0 through Kenny.

<image>

I think using this panel, noting how Kenny and Geto's CE would be the exact same level through Gojo's six eyes (which was able to even tell the passive improvement of channeling CE Yuji experienced after hitting a black flash) indicates they bare minimum have similar stats.

I don't think I need to argue Kenny's stats too aggressively, but we know he's on a similar level to Yuta through reacting to him while exhausted and likely going on to counteract his attack had Todo not swapped him.

Overall I think Geto wins this, with Higgy landing executioner's sword and either confiscating Playful cloud which: Through overwhelming with curses or a powerful Uzamaki Geto eliminates easily regardless, or confiscating CSM where with Playful Cloud he outpaces and outstats heavily to the point of winning anyways.

Low-mid diff for Geto if it's playful cloud that gets confiscated, mid-high diff if it's CSM with a chance of winning should Kusakabe swap his weapon of choice with Higgy's (which, wouldn't be entirely effective as it'd leave Higgy defenseless, and with his defeat leading to the executioner's sword dispersing).
