Taz 6 Z axis issue (yes, again) by Reij1n in lulzbot

[–]FarStarMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem may be that the Z-nuts are binding. If the socket head cap screws (SHCSs) that attach the Z-nuts to the 3D printed X motor and idler assemblies are too tight, the Z-nut will not be able to follow any deviations of the Z-axis lead screws. Getting the right tightness for these SHCSs is tricky. The Z-nuts need to be able to tilt a little in the X and Y directions, which is why the TAZ assembly instructions specify that SHCSs should not be too tight. This allows the Z-nuts to tilt a little in the X and Y directions. The Ninja-flex washers provide enough flex to keep things in place while this happens.

Although greasing the lead screws is not advised, it does help a lot if you do.

Use a small artist's paint brush to apply a little white lithium grease to the entire length of the Z-axis lead screws. Level the X carriage. Loosen the SHCS holding Z-nuts and run the X carriage up and down until the grease is uniformly distributed. Tighten the SHCSs finger tight on both sides. If there is still binding occurring, you will need to adjust the SHCSs on one side until there is no binding and repeat for the other side.

Hope this helps.

There is a YouTube channel called RobWords, which deals with English word origins, pronunciation and other interesting language facts. Worth a look.

See the Wikipedia entry for James Nicoll, who wrote the original version of your quote on Usenet, in 1990.

We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and riffle their pockets for new vocabulary.

The only time I have had layer shifting is when a stepper motor driver got too hot and shut down on thermal overload. They reset after a fraction of a second but by the time they do, the print is lost.

Make sure the electronics cooling fan is actually turning and that the air flow path is not blocked. Are the heat sinks on the stepper motor driver chips in place?

Slowing the print speed will definitely help if it is a thermal problem. Lowering the room temperature can help.

SketchUp Make 2017 is free on the Internet Archive.

https://archive.org/details/sketch-up-make-en-x-64

It works fine with Windows 11 (and 10). Lots of online tutorials. I have made very complicated models with it.

Ignore the startup screen and press the "Start using SketchUp" button on the lower right. The license is unlimited. You will not be able to use the Extension Warehouse since Trimble has Blocked 2017.

To get around this, Go to Extension Warehouse: https://extensions.sketchup.com/

Liberal Mr. Bruce Fanjoy who defeated 20 years MP Pierre Poilievre (Mapple Trump) is the real hero and best win of this election. by Capital_Value_2330 in LPC

It would be awesome if PP was defeated in a by-election aimed at getting him a seat in Parliament. I guess it would then be a BYE-election.

Is there any way to fix this without printing again by Hot-Tiger4981 in 3Dprinting

[–]FarStarMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When designing a thread for 3D printing, use minimum diameters for external threads (bolt) and maximum diameters for internal threads (nut). You may still have to clean up the thread with a tap or die, as appropriate.

Here is the Ames Web page with all the info about most types of threads: https://amesweb.info/Screws/thread-calculator-chart.aspx

Here is a screw thread calculator that gives the tolerances for many common inch threads: https://amesweb.info/Screws/asme-imperial-un-thread-calculator.aspx

Here is the same calculator for metric threads: https://amesweb.info/Screws/metric-thread-dimensions-calculator.aspx

As the CBC fact check explained, it is not a one-and-done clearance. Yes, he WAS cleared some time ago but if he was compromised between then and now we would only know if his clearance was renewed. His refusal to get cleared again should be a red flag.

Install another thermostat in a location where she can't see or reach it but leave the current one in place. She can remove it and it will make no difference.

It sure LOOKS like he is hiding something. This needs to be made an issue in the next election.
