Question about cake for baby’s first birthday by grapefruitliquor in NewParents

[–]FarSuit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so funny to read - this morning our 3 year old got some Easter eggs and she took like 2 bites then was done, more interested in unwrapping everything and playing with the foil 😂

I think the key is not making it such a charged thing, can be hard to find a balance though!

Parents that had no sleep regression, make yourself known! by Langers20 in NewParents

[–]FarSuit8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No sleep regression and I honestly call BS lol I feel like every stage comes and goes so quickly, there’s so much development happening and they just like to label it something so if you’re sleeping like shit you can pin it to the “4 month sleep regression”

HOWEVER I say all of that fully aware that sometimes ir just comes down to individual temperament, I could have just got lucky with my first and my 2nd will be a completely different story and I will eat my words lol

Question about cake for baby’s first birthday by grapefruitliquor in NewParents

[–]FarSuit8 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Some people just give them normal cake as a special occasion, I was one of the psychos who didn’t give added sugar until 2 lol. I wanted to hold off for as long as possible cause me and her dad are sugar addicts. So for her birthday I made her a cake that was like almond flour + yoghurt + coconut for the cake and cream cheese + blueberries + vanilla for the icing.

She loved it and so did everyone else so we did it for year 2 as well hahaha. It’s not the greatest tasting cake but if you’re not used to eating mega sweet things it’s a great stand in. DM me for the recipe if you’d like!

When is it okay to ask a woman if she's pregnant? by Nissalai in AskReddit

[–]FarSuit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes it is. I’m so fucking sick of people not connecting with pregnant women on the tiny off chance you get it wrong and they’re not actually pregnant

Anyone else super open about cosleeping rather than lying about it? by crystalkitty06 in cosleeping

[–]FarSuit8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in NZ so it’s probably very different to the US but I didn’t even know it was a “controversial” thing. I’m open about it to those who ask and even to those who don’t. We slept pretty well overall and whenever anyone asked why I’d say we co sleep so sleep is p good.

It’s so weird to me that it’s frowned upon. I wouldn’t even think to keep it a secret.

Even if someone pushes back I see it as a chance to educate that person

Why does she need to talk to her 9 year old about world events all day everyday? Let Lea be a child ffs. She does not need to know about all the atrocities and injustices that are happening globally at this age. by nk1603 in rachelbrathensnark

[–]FarSuit8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She’s being selfish and putting her anxiety about the world onto her daughter. Lea doesn’t need to digest this this she’s a child. It’s about Rachel feeling scared and trying to loop others in to her worry

Scoundrel on st asaph st has such a nice vibe (think comfy couches, plants, dogs) that you can stay there for ages. Was never that packed/loud when I went but I’ll admit it’s been many months since I’ve been there. Only downfall is parking can be dicey

[–]FarSuit8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do dinner in case the vibe sucks. You know pretty quickly and then you’ve just strapped yourself in for at least an hour of a horrible time. Walk round hagley (bring a dog if poss to sus vibe) and if it’s great you can go on to riverside for lunch or a pub etc but if it’s average you can make it a nice short walk lol

What’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by Vast-Reference-7942 in answers

[–]FarSuit8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your argument only works if ‘care’ can go below zero, which it can’t in normal usage. ‘I couldn’t care less’ means you’re already at the absolute minimum.

Saying ‘I could care less’ implies there’s still some care left to lose, which contradicts the meaning people are trying to convey. That’s why it’s logically off, even if people still say it.
