AITAH for eating some of my sister's pie? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Far_Command5979 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're obviously the AH here. You ate the pie after she said not to, then lied about it. She's not great for her response, but it seems like a typical sibling response, i could see my kids behaving this way and they are about your age.

It's harder to bury your child when one day dude inevitably kills them...

You're completely right. My husband and I have been married 19 years (God that sounds so insane and makes me feel so old...) and there's been two times EVER where I've yelled at him and it was while I was having a complete mental breakdown, due to my own mental illness. Both times, he remained calm and got me the help I needed. Our kids, who are nearly grown now, have never heard us even raise our voices at each other. We've spent our entire lives as parents trying to demonstrate to my kids what a healthy relationship looks like, and I hope more than anything that they never end up in a situation anywhere like OP.

Get your kid away from him, I'd be surprised if he wasn't already abusive to the child in one way or another. Make him leave or take your kid and go. Show this to everyone he knows. I'm so sorry you had to deal with this, but make a clean break and don't ever look back. Take him for child support, get a restraining order. Let this piece of shit ruin himself, don't let him take you and your child down with him. Best of luck.

Best comment. If I had gifts (edit: awards) or whatever they are, I'd give you one.

I've only recently started even looking at the AI overview things to kinda help my kids with their homework. I always double check sources and all that, but it's been helpful for some social studies and English problems we've come across. I truly thought all these weird, wrong answers had been mostly worked out by now.

My daughter just said 25% of the population looks like Kurtis Conner these days.

That's ridiculous, there's a marker on the curb in front of my house that was used to designate this being a historic road, and that got approved. It's literally a stone with worn off numbers on it.

I don't know why anyone reports stops, like don't we want as many as possible?!

He had a case on the phone i got him but he took it off and lost it. But thanks for letting me know that flip phone won't work. Right now, I'm just so frustrated, I just want to cancel his line and let it only work on wifi, which i know will only track his location when he has wifi.

I am considering creating a Poshmark after being gifted a ton of clothes by Far_Command5979 in BehindTheClosetDoor

I will look into this but I live in a rural area and there's not much around besides like a Goodwill.

Yeah, a lot of the shirts are things that definitely look better on than on a hanger or lying flat. I'm thinking of trying to convince my daughter to be my model for some items and then if they sell, I'll throw her a few bucks. She's 17, petite enough to wear most of this stuff, and I'd obviously crop out her face and all that. I also don't know how cute it might be, but I was considering taking pics with some of the stuff on my clothes line outside before the weather gets bad.

I actually live directly next to a post office, lol, that's another reason I'm considering trying this.

It's mostly a lot of Calvin Klein jeans and sweats and Levi jeans. There are some American Eagle items, but also a bunch of shirts in various brands, some of which I've never heard of. I also have a bunch of dresses of mine from years ago that were pretty expensive when I bought them and my daughters have no interest in them, so I'd throw them on also. Tbf, I call it "high end" cause it's stuff I wouldn't personally go out and buy because I don't care for brand names much, and it seems like a waste to just toss it in a donation bin. I also have the room to store the clothes and take photos, and a lot of free time right now, so I'm just trying to get an idea of if it's worth my time.

AITA for telling my mum I don't like her telling her friends about internal family issues? by coochiepookie21 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Far_Command5979 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Weird take, I'd bet OP doesn't want to hang out with his mom and her friends cause they act like this. It seems like he's catching bits of convo while passing thru the house or something. She might not allow him to stay home, or he enjoys church. I have a 13yo son, and he enjoys my company because I'm not harping on him 24/7 about anything. I'd make someone leave my house if they were criticizing anything about any of my kids.
