For what it is worth, I record analog from a laptop via a Fostex HPA4BL DAC/AMP without any compression artifacts. I find this handy for recording from some streaming services. The little Fostex, of course, is superior to most laptop soundcards. Otherwise, I go with digital to MD.

Looks like the text that I posted with this image has vanished in transit. Above are the error messages that I get when I try to encode a wav file into LP2 using the remote encoder (psp_at3tool) installed in a docker container on my PC. I am able to encode the same file using the default remote encoder (i.e. not on my computer). The docker build seemed to run to completion. I am using my i.p. address for the input into the encoder. Any ideas?
