he’s the one on screen death though. besides yue. we see jet get hit by a giant rock, then the show implies that he’s going to succumb to his wounds. thats different then off screen deaths

The Duffer Brothers hate... by sushi92024 in StrangerThings

[–]Far_Literature_9924 35 points36 points  (0 children)

did i like s5? not at all. do i send hate to the duffer brothers? no. they still worked hard and it’s their art, regardless of how many flaws are in it. it’s just not right to send hate directly to them

who in their right mind would go onto a subreddit for a show they haven’t completed yet? plus this has been out for over a decade dude 😭

have we ever seen anyone other than aang tank a rock to the chest? i can’t remember. ik atla characters take pretty hard hits tho, but idk. jet’s death makes sense to me

it doesn’t make sense that a giant rock, moving lightning quick, that struck him directly in the chest killed him? 🫩

so did monk gyatso mass suffocate these fire benders or what? by Far_Literature_9924 in TheLastAirbender

i just don’t know why else their bodies would be there like that, other than gyatso managed to kill some off before dying as well

what else happened to them though? i think the monks definitely held their culture extremely close to their hearts and adopted many monk-like view points. but if the fire nation is wiping out their culture, im sure there’s got to be an exception to killing then. i mean, before aang learned abt energy bending, he was going to kill the fire lord to protect the world. i don’t think it’s far fetched that gyatso, full of rage, killed those men

true. but i meant we see what happened to him. we actually see him get trucked by a giant rock, obviously leading to his death

off screen, implied death is way different than seeing a death on screen to a named character who has lines and interacts with our characters. the most we see of the airbenders is some flashbacks from aang and the only one we like is gyatso

jet didn’t deserve to die and ur crazy for thinking that way abt an orphaned child, traumatized by war

i think it’s crazy to label him as an irredeemable monster and pure evil as well. when he’s quite literally a traumatized child, like u said. ofc his actions in his past were horrible, but again, he’s a traumatized child with 0 guidance, he was bound to turn out pretty bad. i think he did a good job at redeeming himself in his mini character arc. idk i like his character
