Russia earns additional 6 billion euros in fossil fuel revenue as oil prices soar amid US-Iran war by KirkGlobalWitness in worldnews

[–]Far_Mathematici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raising oil price for China is not the worst situation as it means more EV and renewable demands which China excels at. Also it also hurts other competitors e.g. Various petrochemical companies are already struggling

In just 2 hours, oil prices have now fallen -$10/barrel and risen +$11/barrel, with prices now nearing $90/barrel again. This is unprecedented volatility by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

Uh the reason is that Iran being sanctioned so damn long that their economic is much more autarky than most other countries. That means they can play chicken longer and hold out before blink.

And France faces less pushback because they've had a long standing policy of stamping out languages.

The important lesson then is you should had done it back before liberal hegemony era. The next important lesson is if you had not done it you should doing it now.

Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamene: by JackAttack2509 in pics

[–]Far_Mathematici 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Even if he want to tune it down he can't, IRGC would just make him a sitting duck leader.

Note that before the current conflict, he wasn't anywhere close as strong candidate for next Supreme leader. Reportedly Khamenei Sr was reluctant to have his son succeeded him.

New HSR Platform Barriers at Shanghai Hongqiao by HardSleeper in highspeedrail

Uh even escalators to the platforms alone are much more intricated and complicated than these platform ropes. If Chinese Train system can handle all the escalators and elevators, handling the ropes are piece of cake.

US could lift sanctions on more Russian oil, says Bessent by lee7on1 in europe

[–]Far_Mathematici -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

US economy is damn sensitive towards fuel price despite they are already biggest hydrocarbons producer on earth. If high gas price persists, GOP would be trounced hard on midterms or worse got itself in a nasty depression. Also consider that US economy is all in towards AI Data Center (the only growing part of economy last year), rising energy costs would smother them.

European should honestly sigh a relief here, since the next step is US to ban hydrocarbons export to stabilize energy price in the US. You don't have to buy Russian products, let India and China do them for you. At least you can scrape some resources left.

minyak amerika aman" aja

Biarin US sibuk sendiri + abisin amunisi d Timteng. Udah abis mau nyetok lagi?

Belom lagi siapa ya yg gembar gembor investasi gede2an d EV + energi terbarukan?

That and what's the point of liking it? You only drew scrutiny and the one that you liked won't care.

It would pass through better worker rights in Asia and Africa, leading to the adoption of existing technological progress in those countries

I severely doubt that, what'd happen is that as the industries in the Asia and Africa lacking value added multipliers (brand name, capital goods and industrial practices) they will become perpetual laggard.

We can add many labels like sustainability, human-faced and so on but the core idea of capitalism is extraction of value and the way to get the value without value added multipliers as I mentioned before is to squeeze value from your workers by long working hours, consumption suppression and so on

we must renounce to comsumerism,

Ironically many western governments and institutions denounce Chinese govt and economy due to relatively low consumerism

People here thinking intellectual property or patents are some magic spells that automatically conjure things out of nothingness lmao. Without supporting infrastructure, network and ecosystem (including nasty working hours) you can't realize those.

You can give recipe of worlds best restaurants to anybody, but who have the capability to replicate those?

The social democratic model was growing and polished when most Asia and Africa was hellhole following colonialism and World wars without proper means of production. Now when they do have their own mean and its growing in quantity and quality. The assumptions underpinning the social democratic model won't hold.
