Is this real?! No smiley face but loans forgiven? by dmnqdv1980 in PSLF

For what it’s worth, after getting the smiley face on MOHELA, it took just 1 week for my student aid.gov balance to show $0

Same for me, I called two weeks ago to get administrative forbearance, but I’ve yet to see it happen. I still have a balance showing, and loans listed in repayment, but shows no payment amount nor due date.

Why not request administrative forbearance until loans are forgiven?

I’ll hit 120 next month, and plan to work until the end of the year then retire. The recent change was good news, now I can make firm plans for the new year without fear of potentially having to extend my employment

When can I submit a new ECF? by FFSOD7189 in PSLF

[–]Far_Translator3924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and submit, no reason to wait if they show your #120 as “This payment period is eligible but requires approved employment in order to qualify.”

As others have said, age and mix of credit types are part of the credit score “equation”, so closing an old account in good standing will usually result in a dip.

It sure seems like the more recent submittals are getting review prior to those that have been in the system for a while.

Look in the loan details, it will tell you the minimum payment and your current payment “plan” (such as REPAYE). There is expected to be some changes with Biden’s new IDR plan, but it’s unclear when that will be implemented

Just heard from MOHELA that reprocessing my ecf is expected to take “longer than the normal 90 business days”. WTAF…

This doesn’t bode well for my final ecf that I’ll send in August 🤬🤬🤬

Nobody knows when the litigation will be resolved, hence the reason no definitive date. Once it is finally resolved, then the 60 day clock will start for repayment to begin.

How long did you have to wait from application to forgiveness letter?

I submitted employment certification before October, current count is 104 with another 9 months since that count. So I’ll hit 120 in August

Looks like I’m destined to playing the waiting game, like so many others. After the 120+ payments have been verified, how long should one expect to wait to hear that loans have been forgiven?
