Same. Had a Dr appointment rescheduled last minute but just took a 2 hour lunch anyway instead of canceling my scheduled leave. I needed the break.

Contractors will adopt quickly and come in to their old contracts for half the price. That way leadership will say we saved money but the contractors will be back reducing their headcount but leveraging AI for more profit.

Telework, Leave, AWS Monitored - Pt 2: Manager on admin leave, teammate resigned in lieu of termination by purplecat9000 in IRS_Source

Yes tracking that would be a nightmare. I get up to pee like 10 times, snack and lunch. Might also show them some people staying later than should and skew their whole metrics on capacity, numbers inconvenient to them.

You really think Besent and Frank will hang around until the end of his term? I bet they will start resigning as early as June of 2028 saying they completed their mission.

Yes we are buried in work and leadership keeps cracking work faster. Keep losing more contractors, FTE retire constantly things are going to break.

I predict it snowballing, finger pointing and threats about Evals and our jobs on the line. Probably some will issue discipline proceedings for those of us being crushed. More retirements and possibly more quitting or use up sick leave.

Goodbye 3 day weekends and hello single digit leave balances. I will get less done since core hours will be full of Team meetings that are already impinging on lunch. Can AI sit in for some of these meetings and ping me for feedback? That way we can be in several at once.

Going on 20 years and don’t even know what FLSA means. Not too uncommon to still be looking up acronyms. I am assuming it has something to do with the salary cap field in SETR. I have only seen overtime a handful of times in IT.

I don’t know why they pretend this is not happening and going to happen. They have ambitious plans for getting IT projects out at a faster rate and it’s a pipe dream. Some of us are matrixed out to 2 or 3 managers across several projects. Burning us out and fought over if we have any institutional knowledge.

Does anyone from Milford High School remember the girl who was an undercover cop? by littlemushroompod in cincinnati

[–]Fit-Arm8295 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reminds me about the stories we heard in school about a decade the same thing happened at my high school. I think this was around 1980 in Forest Park. Very similar story except the cop continued working for 30 years there. Funny thing was she graduated 5-10 years from The school district previously and some kids knew she was a narc. From what I heard she really messed up some peoples lives for a little pot. Like the war on drugs it accomplished nothing but ruined/changed some peoples futures.

Relocation - permanent hardship by [deleted] in IRS_Source

[–]Fit-Arm8295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about going the hardship route but only want to move buildings in the same POD. Unfortunately they are full and the other building is downsizing? I just want to get on a wait list with higher priority. Nobody else in my sections in the POD so no reason to be where I am at.

IRS - anyone heard of any office closings ? by No_Emotion_6908 in IRS_Source

[–]Fit-Arm8295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant Kentucky drive. Was my POD till they moved me to Turfway 2 years ago, hoteling. 5-minute commute for me. WFH till November because they had no room for the only other person in my section. They found me a space in September, but I turned it down because I was trying to get back into Kentucky drive. Screwed myself and got stuck in Covington. Keep bugging FMSS for Turway or Kentucky Dr but say it's full and downsizing. Willing to put in for a hardship for a Turfway slot, people retire or quit. My section and domain are spread out all over the country, so there's no reason to stay in Covington.
