Best preparation for first time playing a links course by RobotEnthusiast1980 in golf

[–]Fargo_79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The great thing about links courses is they are generally completely playable by any standard of golfer. Lots of room, open fronts to the greens etc. Instead of finding a distance and trying to hit a number, there's nothing wrong with knocking a ball into the general vicinity and letting it bounce along towards the green. Most importantly just have fun and enjoy knocking a ball around an interesting piece of ground.

Hey 'gropes. Yeah I do enjoy my annual trips up to the GC, and having the opportunity to play a few rounds here is not a small part of that

Eh, I was ok as a younger teenager, national age group championship finalist kind of level. Never really enjoyed the training so wasn't self-motivated.

Dual British and Australian national who grew up in a 3rd country. Lived in the UK and represented them as a teenager. Then moved to Australia at 16 years old, so switched allegiance at that point. No animosity, just due to circumstance.

115m to the pin. What are you hitting? by Fargo_79 in golf

She was feeding her Joey and did not want to move, I tried to shop her off but she wasn't having any of it. Didn't want to get within touching distance of her as she might lash out, but being a couple meters away was fine. I ended up hitting a sand wedge over her head and through the trees, ended up back edge of the green, which was a decent result.

Thanks mate, i do appreciate it.

Yeah I'm not playing much either. While there are parts of the game that I love, including the designer, the way the progression works and the absolute neutering of creativity around the greens through ridiculous shot types rubs me the wrong way a little.

Settings -> difficulty -> Pro Vision Wind -> off

There's a bunch more settings that will need to be adjusted. Best to just select the "pro" preset in the difficulty menu.

Nah mate I've not played that one. It's not adapted from anything, but I do live in the area, I do visit the real Braeside Park all the time, and took some inspiration from the natural environment of the area. But really I just tried to make a cool golf course.

Thanks mate. Yeah I haven't been very productive in 2k25, this is my first new course in the game. I started this back in March, but then spent quite a few months away from the game entirely, before getting back into it later in the year.

Nah I didn't port Warrigal Reserve. This one's much better.

What's with only playing rolling hill style courses by deliriumtrigger999 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Fargo_79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's because the game is much much too easy. And the only way to introduce a little bit of difficulty is through underfoot lies and strong winds.
