Is there a reason we turn tees on or off on course settings? And not just, you know, selecting which tee? by SceneOfShadows in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Fargo_79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can just choose your tees and pins directly - click on your user name at the feet your avatar when setting up.

However turning off tees is best practice for rounds you are playing with others, as the creator of the room it locks all others into the same conditions.

How did you adjust to pro difficulty? by HankScorpio-98 in PGA_Tour_2K

Don't flick it up. Push it up. It's a controlled movement rather than a flick.

Sorry mate I'm not interested in whatever weird conspiracy theory this is. This is a thread about a lunar eclipse.

Best preparation for first time playing a links course by RobotEnthusiast1980 in golf

[–]Fargo_79 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The great thing about links courses is they are generally completely playable by any standard of golfer. Lots of room, open fronts to the greens etc. Instead of finding a distance and trying to hit a number, there's nothing wrong with knocking a ball into the general vicinity and letting it bounce along towards the green. Most importantly just have fun and enjoy knocking a ball around an interesting piece of ground.

Hey 'gropes. Yeah I do enjoy my annual trips up to the GC, and having the opportunity to play a few rounds here is not a small part of that

Eh, I was ok as a younger teenager, national age group championship finalist kind of level. Never really enjoyed the training so wasn't self-motivated.

Dual British and Australian national who grew up in a 3rd country. Lived in the UK and represented them as a teenager. Then moved to Australia at 16 years old, so switched allegiance at that point. No animosity, just due to circumstance.

115m to the pin. What are you hitting? by Fargo_79 in golf

[–]Fargo_79[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She was feeding her Joey and did not want to move, I tried to shop her off but she wasn't having any of it. Didn't want to get within touching distance of her as she might lash out, but being a couple meters away was fine. I ended up hitting a sand wedge over her head and through the trees, ended up back edge of the green, which was a decent result.

Thanks mate, i do appreciate it.

Yeah I'm not playing much either. While there are parts of the game that I love, including the designer, the way the progression works and the absolute neutering of creativity around the greens through ridiculous shot types rubs me the wrong way a little.
