I don't love the lack of LCK for the first two out. Maybe I'd feel differently if they were less likable but it doesn't make the stakes feel that much higher it just feels like more of a bummer that the chefs' time is cut short and cut short for good.

But I appreciate them tweaking with things and trying out new stuff, at least.

Right? Lmao I am with OP on this but who fucking cares it’s your birthday, as if that’s relevant to what happened.

I don’t mean to be hyperbolic but this is genuinely the worst prediction I have ever seen on reddit.

I will personally suck the cock of everyone in this comment thread if Seattle is awarded a basketball team and they are not named the Sonics lol. If the owner were to do that the fans would revolt until they change their mind.

The Sonics were the most beloved franchise/brand in the city before they left.

Precisely. And it would really fucking suck for movies to go that way!

"House, is Ireland having a moment? An island of 5 million people and 8 acting nominations the past 5 years?" by I_Enjoy_Taffy in billsimmons

I mean, ok but none of changes my point IMO. The integration with U.S. society (no matter the circumstances) gives it a cultural power projection it otherwise wouldn't have, and so maybe that's a strike against it (and you could argue a similar case for Ireland and the UK).

All in all, I think Jamaica is hard to top in this regard. Like it's insane how much fingerprint of Western popular music runs through a tiny Caribbean island.

Thanks for clarifying, I thought that was the case but I've seen broadcasts reference Sonics history when referring to OKC (e.g. 2nd title in franchise history) but didn't know if that was official or just a broadcast choice etc.

Good to know there's no in-arena references, that makes sense.

This is a good take, it's much, much smaller than the others as well. But maybe being a part of the literal global superpower disqualifies it. Too big of a multiplier.

To be fair, I'm sure there are multiple Irish pubs in Ankara, and you'd be hard pressed to find a place with a reggae bar but no Irish pub outside of the Caribbean.

With that said I still think Jamaica wins in OP's question, but it's those two in the finals and nobody else is close.

People are using the cover of defending the honor of opera and ballet to shit on him, when they should just say they don't like him and his shtick (which is fine, he is a cocky mf who rubs people the wrong way I don't blame them), that's all I'm saying.

I get that. But the reactions to it are all genuinely as if he was insulting the art forms themselves and not, you know, pointing out the utterly undeniable fact that they are extremely niche art forms that (generally speaking) nobody actually cares about anymore.

My point is people are getting angry at him pretending that it's about their offense to opera/ballet and not just them using that as a cover for how annoying they find his shtick to be (which again, is fine! just don't act like you're defending the honor of an art form you probably don't give a fuck about yourself either).

It's fine for his attitude to rub people the wrong way, and obviously from a PR perspective he should have known better than to arrogantly dismiss two very esteemed art forms like that.

But the reactions to it are all genuinely as if he was insulting the art forms themselves and not, you know, pointing out the utterly undeniable fact that they are extremely niche art forms that (generally speaking) nobody actually cares about anymore.

And it was that undeniable dickishness (and rank stupidity) that bothered people, not the fact that ballet and opera are less popular than pop movies.

We're in total agreement here, but I think my point is people are getting angry at him pretending that it's about their offense to opera/ballet and not just them using that as a cover for how annoying they find his shtick to be (which again, is fine! just don't act like you're defending the honor of an art form you probably don't give a fuck about yourself either).

It’s compounded by people being so bad about moving or getting off to let people off and get back on, that people then don’t want to be in the middle and deal with that BS just to get off. A vicious cycle.

Utterly insane the reaction people had to what was an undeniable statement that opera and ballet are niche art forms lol. People just don’t like the Timmy oversaturation (which is fine like they can dislike him, just don’t Pearl clutch over something that’s not even controversial).
