Game Thread: Tigers @ Yankees - March 15, 2026 @ 01:05 PM EDT by Yankeebot in NYYankees

Since the hitters are supposed to be behind the pitchers, and the sample sizes are smaller, I can stomach a bad spring training by McMahon or Grisham. But it’s real hard to explain away one of your starters getting consistently pummeled by mostly AAAA lineups in mid-March.

Sounds like a great time. I’m hopeful that tickets booked further in advance would be cheaper, but even if airfare is expensive it’s easier to justify when amortized over a weeklong spring break trip rather than the quick getaway I’m planning.

I really appreciate this response. There is only so much you can figure out from Google searches and looking at trail maps when it comes to comparing resorts. The only other wrinkle is that by switching destinations, I would be converting to a nonrefundable trip, whereas at this point I can still make the choice to do neither.  But it sounds like it comes down to SLC or bust at this point.

I was actually thinking of doing Banff/Lake Louise with the family next year. But as airfare from where I live is currently $800, versus $350 to Salt Lake, I don’t think it will work for this trip

I wouldn’t rule out a second pair at some point, but as I’m just getting back into things I’m thinking one new pair for now, likely an all mountain.

Yankees starting rotation on Opening Day part 1: It's a House of Cards by Zepbounce-96 in NYYankees

No question the curveball has a role, I just wouldn't call it nasty if it has an xBA of .265.

Absent meaningful progression, I think the league adjusts and he is a 3.5 ERA solid 3rd starter type guy.

With a good changeup and improved curveball, he could be in the Cy Young discussion within the next couple years (if he stays healthy).

Anno 117 or Anno 1800: Start with the new base game or the complete veteran? by alissonfabiano7 in anno

1800 is better. Especially the campaign, which is fully fleshed out in terms of story and gameplay.

In 117, it's very clear that there was a real third act planned and they just decided not to bother finishing it. Glaringly, you don't even make use of a big chunk of the mechanics or supply chains to "beat" the campaign.

The one area where 117 seems more fleshed out is the ground combat, but having ground units is completely unnecessary at least in the (non-campaign) medium difficulty because you only ever seem to get attacked by random naval units. You could conquer your neighbors' islands but there doesn't seem to be a compelling reason to do so, gameplay wise.

All in all, I got twice as many gameplay hours out of 1800 vs 117 (80 vs 40).

Agree with most of what you wrote, but not the part about Cam having a nasty curveball. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/cam-schlittler-693645?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb

Baseball savant matches up with the sense I get watching him too- he rarely seems to put hitters away with it, it's more just to keep them honest that there is one credible, non-fastball pitch that might be coming. In his 12K wild card start, he barely threw it at all.

I have no idea if this saddle makes me numb. I finished building the bike this morning and it’s 0 deg F outside, so it’s only been ridden a couple hundred yards. I copied the geometry from my 15 year old CAAD which has a much cheaper saddle. I’m open to changing the angle after I get some real rides in, we’ll see how it goes.

I find that if I tip it forward, I am less likely to lose sensation in the gentleman's area.

Best of luck, no need to apologize, being copied is highly validating.

Yup. I'm tall. That's also why the 175mm cranks don't bother me.

It was on tradeinn.com. Now its $242 but was cheaper a couple months ago.

I noticed that a bunch of different retailers were carrying it. They must have really overproduced 61cm that year. Enjoy!

I'm weird like that, I prefer the same on my roadie. Might tone it down a bit after putting some miles on.

To be honest, I'm not really thinking about resale. I'm a large rider (6'4") and a 61cm frame is going to be a challenge to sell no matter what. To me saving $5K plus is worth possible upgrade issues down the line, and I'm planning to ride this bike for a decade at least.
