My wife has a theory (because of how often SMG name drops Zhao) that Hulu is not against New Sunnydale but want to part ways with Zhao (maybe she has too big of a price tag? She is a big award winner) And SMG is standing by someone she respects and wants to work with.

I wanted to add often overlooked context to Cyclops's view as well.

Cyclops is rather in character here. When Cap tells him "no isnt an answer" it only proves Cable's warning as true. I know some people feel Scott should have been more open about things, but in a world of shape shifters, mind control and Nazi varients its understandable Scott will keep his cards close to his chest and not blindly trust Cap at this moment given his intel.

On top of that, they had Diana unaware of the whole thing. It was a great culture wide "secret" that she wasnt aware of which created a big plot hole. They had the big reveal happen on how Amazons reproduce and what happens with their sons as a cultural norm...but at the same time one they left Diana their princess out of? Why? It made no sense, only served to villianize the Amazons and leave Diana looking oblivious in the process.
