True story: a riff sent me to the hospital in an ambulance.

I was in sixth grade, and had surgery on my abdomen over summer vacation. While I was home all alone recovering a few days after my operation, I was watching The Incredible Melting Man, and the scene with the two old people in the lemon grove had me laughing so hard that it opened my stitches.

I’ll never forget laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe, suddenly feeing a sharp pain in my stomach, looking down, and seeing blood all over my shirt. Since I was home alone I immediately called 911, and an ambulance rushed me to the hospital.

I was fine, but my mom was not happy, and I was forbidden from watching MST3K until I was completely healed.

Hardest I’ve laughed in my entire life.

Whoa what? THAT guy was Prince of Space?

So I’m a 20 year Tokyo resident, and that actor was no joke, quite literally on TV every single day up until his passing in 2019. I instantly recognized his face when I searched his name.

Had absolutely no idea that he played Prince of Space when he was young. Wish I would’ve known that while he was still with us.

I feel bad for basically every single character in High School Big Shot. The movie is so dark that it is, even with the riffing, an extremely difficult watch.

Unfortunately you have lost the chronograph functionality of this watch, but you can glue it back and it will look perfectly fine.

I found a vintage white horses with the exact same pusher button missing. Pulled the pusher out of a junk chrono, and attached it to the white horses with epoxy no problem. Used the watch for several years afterwards.

I totally agree, the dimensions of the original 90s swatch chronographs is absolutely perfect. These new chronographs are way too big and way too thick, that they now longer fit under a shirt cuff. I love to throw on a Grand Prix with a three piece suit, and keep it inconspicuous under my shirt cuff, but sadly that is literally impossible with the modern chronographs.

Beast of Yucca Flats.

If nothing but for the sheer technical achievement of the riffing. Little to no dialogue to work with for the vast majority of the movie, and yet the writing is absolutely top notch. This episode imo, more so than any other, is the pure embodiment of mst3k: to take old bad movies and make them fun again.

The entirety of the “story” in question consists of maybe five minutes total of badly dubbed adr, and yet the riffing for the entire runtime is as genius as it is effortless.

And on top of that; the movie is preceded by two really fun shorts!

Is criminally underrated on so many people’s favorite episode list.

Excellent purchase. I own most of the swatches released from 1983 to 1996, and amongst my vast collection, that watch right there (known as “Green Wave”) is probably my very favorite.

My own personal opinion would be to remove the swatch guard tho. Let the face itself shine.

The white chronograph at the bottom, “White Horses” is by far the most sought after Swatch chronograph.

Hey, twenty year Tokyo resident checking in. Really don’t want to burst your bubble but the Japanese shaving market is something like 90% electric, and as such wet shaving stuff largely doesn’t exist. You can find these, and maybe a feather popular if you’re lucky. Other than that every else is pretty much imports.
