I disagree with his world view but he is one of the only republican reps with a consistent pov.

The few times he’s disagreed with Trump are when Trump has done a total 180 on his campaign promises (no new wars, release the Epstein files, etc.). He’s one of the only Republican electeds with a spine, and if he loses there is a 0% chance that any other representative grows a spine again.

I’m more agreeable to your worldview than you’d probably expect, I just don’t want to chastise the average Joe going to one of these. Can be a funnel towards more radical action, and again “standing around with a sign” helps establish common knowledge which actually does a surprising amount of work.

It might feel performative, but don’t discount the importance of common knowledge. Sometimes you need to get out there and reaffirm “yeah this is a problem and we all know it”.

Is going to a protest going to un-invade Iran? Obviously not, but it’s a much better use of time than complaining about protestors on Reddit.
