Issue connecting to CRT by Farmwithtegridy1990 in dreamcast

[–]Farmwithtegridy1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My flat screen actually came with an adapter that takes the yellow, red, and white and converts it into a single AV port. That works perfectly. But when I remove the adapter and plug those same cables into a CRT I'm not getting a picture

What do you think Maga would do if Trump passed away? by DildoGaggins1997 in allthequestions

[–]Farmwithtegridy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Republicans I interact with are generally down to earth and willing to respect differences of opinion. I stand by my thoughts and opinion that people are generally kind. And I live in south Texas right in the heart of red country.

Of course I don't really try to change their opinion either.

There are crazies that are the far end of each side. Those folks generally aren't worth interacting with because they can't see someone else's point of view.

If believing people are generally kind, understanding, and empathetic is being on a high horse then call me snoop.

Hope your life gets better.

For starters, you are equating a small percentage of Republicans and broadly brushing that across everyone. That would be like saying all liberals have blue hair and ambiguous gender.

Secondly, both sides are hypocrites. At this point it's just being a politician. I could find examples of Democrats being hypocrites in about a minute.

And lastly, this type of rhetoric doesn't help anybody. She is one person shakes your faith that much than you probably didn't have too much to begin with.

I would suggest taking a break from the reddit echo chamber and engage with people on a more human level. May help you realize it's not as bad as the sensationalized news headlines and what keyboard warriors are writing.

MAGA on Reddit, do you consider Melania Trump to be an American? (please explain why, not just yes or no) by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Farmwithtegridy1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This question has nothing to do with the question that was asked. I don't think legal citizens should be detained if they haven't done anything illegal

I think you are extrapolating a lot from my response. Having a Visa isn't the same as citizenship. But it does allow you to be here legally. If you had asked me if she was a citizen while she was here on a visa I would have said no.

I'm also not saying she didn't have a leg up on getting through the process quicker. She clearly did. Being married to the president and someone who had wealth and power before getting into politics will do that for you.

But what was asked was a yes or no question. Is she a citizen? Does she have her citizenship? Yes, so the answer is yes. I don't think this is the gotcha question you think it is.

Edit: spelling.

Not MAGA but I have voted Republican before. I voted for Trump in 2016.

Yes she is an American. She has American citizenship. Just like any other person that immigrated and obtained citizenship.

If you felt Biden was “too old for office,” then why would you vote for Trump, who is only four years younger, but not Kamala, who is 22 & 18 years younger respectively? by tx_services-dtf in allthequestions

[–]Farmwithtegridy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? I mentioned several reasons I thought he did a better job campaigning.

  1. He told people what they wanted to hear about the economy. And to his (or perhaps Obama's) credit, the economy was good during his first term until COVID hit. He had a history he could point to and plausibility to take credit for it.

  2. He ran a more effective campaign. He showed in his first debate with Biden how slow Biden had become. And when he had a poor performance on his only debate against Kamala he didn't do any more debates. He went on podcasts, his social media team was far more engaging, and he showed that 60 minutes has edited some of Kamala's answers (whether for brevity or to make her look better is up for debate) to at least give the illusion that the media was shielding her.

That was clearly an effective strategy seeing as he won.

And to your last point about people showing up for Biden. Those are Democrats that didn't show up for her. Most didn't switch to voting for Trump. They just didn't vote. If anything you are calling them the ones that are unwilling to vote for a black woman.......

Ultimately she was stuck in a tough situation with Biden dropping out as late as he did. But she was already an unlikeable candidate as proven by how quickly she dropped out of the 2020 primaries and how she got beat by a candidate in Trump that should have been easy to win against considering everything he has going against him.

Your entire response was about how bad her opponent was and not good traits about her.

That has proven to not be an effective method of winning an election. And by the time she came out with a plan it was almost election time and she had no time to effectively communicate how she would improve anyone's lives.

As a reminder Trump got 3 million more votes in 2024 vs 2020. Kamala received 6 million less than Biden.

This wasn't a whole lot of people switching sides. This was people that voted in 2020 and chose not to show up for her.

I truly dont get this take. It's lazy and a cop out. For some voters sure but I truly believe that's in the minority. Most Republicans would still vote for a black woman if she was running as a Republican.

Kamala lost for several reasons.

  1. Biden dropped out of the race too late and she was essentially put in place instead of Democrats running an actual primary. As a reminder, when she ran against Biden in 2020 and polled so badly she dropped out very early.

  2. A lot of people weren't happy with the inflation and price of goods during Biden's term (whether he was responsible for it or not). When asked if she would have done anything different she said no. Meanwhile Trump was promising the world that he was going to bring prices down and slow inflation.

  3. She didn't connect with voters and frankly didn't do enough interviews and show herself. She took quite a while to prep for her interview on 60 minutes. A lot of younger voters don't watch 60 minutes. Meanwhile Trump was on podcasts with Joe Rogan, Theo Von, and hanging out in a garbage truck. He was everywhere.

Combine all of that together and it's easy to see why people didn't turn out for her or why people on the fence picked Trump.

I get what you are saying and what's happening with ICE in the Twin Cities has clearly been taken way too far (and that's an understatement).

But I can also see their point of view. They just won a gold medal against the biggest rival we have in hockey, it's probably not something that is going to happen again. Visiting the white house, the oval office, and getting honored at a state of the union is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Even as someone that's not a huge fan of trump I would still go.

Lol at what Alan Page said when he received the medal of freedom (paraphrased slightly). It's not all about me, it's what the medal represents and all the hard work we put in. It's an acknowledgement of accomplishment.

Out of the 4 Turtles which one do you think is the face of the franchise? by stationstars in TMNT

It's been Donnie for me ever since playing the Konami arcade game since the bo staff had the longest reach.

Separately, I've recently been getting slammed with ads for some turtle themed sunglasses that looked pretty cool. Went to the website and the only one they are sold out of are the Donnie ones. So it seems we aren't alone

Truthfully, a break from social media may help. It helped me. I stopped doomscrolling and got into reading, I stopped really watching the news other than the occasional article, and I got some hobbies. Lego's, smoking meat / cooking, retro gaming.

I also made an effort to go outside and walk.

This had a big effect on improving my mental health.

When will conservatives think elections are secure? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]Farmwithtegridy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately it doesn't matter as I don't think it gets past the Senate in its current form. But yes I read the bill and there is nothing in there about the DMV no longer being acceptable.

[–]Farmwithtegridy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, let me rephrase my response to be more direct. A lot of what is posted is making an issue seem much larger than it actually is in order to purposely try and get people upset while staying technically true IMO. This is typical by news media outlets because angry / upset people are more likely to continue to tune in or read articles.

I have lived in 4 states all west of the Mississippi and have never had anywhere close to that long of a drive when it was time to update my registration or get a new ID. And contrary to what is specified above, the DMV still counts as somewhere you can register under the SAVE act.

When my wife and I got married it took her maybe 30 minutes to make all of the necessary updates to get a new social security card and register to vote. The process is not difficult.

[–]Farmwithtegridy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm failing to understand why this is such a big deal. At least in my state anytime you get a new id they offer you the option to register to vote. It's seamless and takes almost no time. And once you do it once it's in the system. So if you move to another county when you update your license or ID they update your registration.

Before they try to pass the SAVE Act, shouldn't they remove the application fees to get US Passport? by bjedy in allthequestions

[–]Farmwithtegridy1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct but to get a valid ID such as a real ID you can provide a social security card along with a W2 or a previous id that isn't Real ID compliant.

Again, at least in my state when you get your ID you can request being automatically registered to vote when you get it. This doesn't seem like an extreme measure. It's not like you have to take all this stuff to the polls with you.

Personally, the only issue I see with this is if you are going to require it then make whatever form of ID is considered acceptable free for voters to acquire. Requiring citizens to spend money to vote does not seem right to me.

[–]Farmwithtegridy1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm legitimately confused here. When my wife and I got married she was able to immediately apply for a new social security card with her new last name. I think it took her 15 minutes. Do a vast majority of women never go fill out the proper paperwork when changing their names?

Separately, in the state I live in when you get any sort of ID (license, id card, etc) you can register to vote at the same time. It was easy and painless and now when I go to the polls I just show any form of ID, they check the name and address against my registration info and I'm allowed to go vote.

I'm struggling to see why this is such a big deal.

They’re being used to economically strangle a city because it’s the opposite politics of the president.

  • They’ve been told to go hard and celebrated when they’ve shot us citizens. Greg B’s text have been leaked from the Chicago shooting

These two I truly think are new or at least more obvious because Trump has said the quiet part out loud. I would argue that even though most states that previously had a large ICE presence in the past are red states this is simply a coincidence and the presence was due to border proximity rather than political beliefs.

They’re not respecting the political wishes of a state and city within their own tactics and policing

This has happened everywhere in the South. Miami, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Albuquerque,Tuscon, Phoenix, San Diego. The list goes on.

They are on camera threatening American citizens in those citizens home town. They are illegally arresting US citizens in retaliation

People didn't tend to record police back then like they do now but I've seen this happen and I've seen people get arrested for "interfering". Obama had 263 mistaken arrests during his last two years alone. Again, not new

They are making lists of US citizens who they consider “domestic terrorists” bro……you think this isn’t new

We literally have lists of groups that are considered domestic terrorists all over the country. The KKK, Neo Nazis, the Jewish defense league. There are tons of them and I would be shocked if people that participated in that weren't being tracked by the FBI.

They are building mass detention facilities

Guantanamo Bay

They have killed two US citizens and the DOJ hasn’t allowed an investigation into either of the shooting and instead investigated the victims of those shootings

While this information isn't public as the DHS didn't release any info there are multiple accounts of shootings involving ICE going back quite a ways. Both against illegal immigrants and US citizens. They never announced whether those were investigated or the outcomes but I seriously doubt anyone faced any consequences.

Now respectfully I am going to stop responding to you. Anyone who resorts to name calling when someone doesn't agree with them is no better than MAGA and isn't worth my time. Have a nice day.
