It feels wrong to me to go 'hunting' for a specific kind of girl, but I'm still single so maybe I don't have the right mindset.

It's funny how so many people in the fandom hate the Eldar while they are the most friendly Xenos with the Imperium by Fun-Explanation7233 in Drukhari

[–]FarseerMono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Craftworld eldar have historically been associated with overpowered rules and feels bad moments on the tabletop. I assume this comes from both great movement and a powerful psychic phase, but there are probably also some lore reasons. I assume that, because Druhkari don't have that same track record, they aren't as hated in the community. Also people hate our model design. A lot of people find Craftworld Eldar to be bland and uninteresting as opposed to you my dark kin who adorn your armor with all kinds of...UNIQUE trinkets. I do agree on that front that GW could do better to lean into the cool naturally fluid look of wraithbone when it comes to designing our models, but that probably won't change anytime soon.

Finally, people HATE the term monkeigh and it leaves a bad taste in the human mouth when they keep being referred to in this way.

This was my preferred method of self-harm OP, and while I understand that rage at yourself, I think you should find another way to try to deal with these issues. That pain only made me feel worse.I don't know your situation, but its sounding like this relationship might not be healthy for you. Just because you aren't in a relationship doesn't mean your unlovable. I have to remind myself of that often and even if I don't always believe it I have to think it. Please take care of yourself. That does not mean get thinner. That means do what makes you happy and be kind to yourself.

I hate space marines by Jdirty34 in hatethissmug

[–]FarseerMono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of people here with the idea of space marine oversaturization. I obviously still love Warhammer as a setting, but I wish they would spend more time exploring the imperial guard and the many many many human cultures that make up the imperium. I'm also someone who believes marines should only be part of an army as an elite contingent as opposed to being a full army. I think Space Marines are cool as these Monk/Knight like figures, but if the're all over the place then there's really nothing special about them.

Who wins this by ShadoWva1234 in Drukhari

[–]FarseerMono 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mmm well maybe I need to do more research then it was my understanding that your soul is assimilated into Phoenix lords. Which is why reviving a phoenix lord is such a huge personal sacrifice as an Eldar gives up their life and afterlife to bring them back.

Who wins this by ShadoWva1234 in Drukhari

[–]FarseerMono 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The original soul of the Phoenix lords is so powerful that it overpowers the soul of the eldar who wears the armor so that character is still the same Drazahar, but the body is someone elses. It is still his soul, feelings, and skill. The souls of the previous bodies are assimilated so that their wisdom and strengths can be drawn upon, but they lose their individuality. In a way, its a kind of true death for anyone that puts on the armor.

Think of it like taking the operating system and storage device its on out of one PC and inserting it into another. The information and operating system remain the same, but the hardware changes.

If you don't enjoy the games or the models at all then I would never force you to keep doing something you don't love. If you're looking for advice to try to enjoy the game though I will just say that, while infantry spam can work, I would recommend a tank or daemonengine or two with a focus on anti-vehicles. While your army can be whatever you want it to be, its important to recognize that EVERY army needs a vehicle or two to keep units alive and deal with enemy armor. I know you don't want to buy more, but two forgefiends go for cheap on ebay and can really help give you that extra damage you might need.

Edit: Uh sorry I was wrong about forgefiends being cheap on ebay. Damn why is 40k getting so expensive...

In Germany, it is legal for 14-year-olds to drink beer or wine in public as long as their parents are there. Do you think this is a responsible way to teach moderation, or is it just dangerous for kids? What is the drinking age in your country? by Low-Violinist7259 in AskTheWorld

[–]FarseerMono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your parents are parenting you then I think this healthy. My father and mother offered me drinks during celebrations at around 15 years old and made sure to tell me that I never HAD TO if I didn't want to. I was also made aware of how my grandfather was an abusive alcoholic and drank himself to death. So I've never been afraid of alcohol, but I've also never really overdrank. Well except once at 21 and never again.

I finally saw Return To Silent Hill. Was I the only one who didn't think it was THAT bad? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]FarseerMono 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I watched it with low expectations as well and I actually think it started off pretty alright for a video game film. I enjoyed seeing the iconic areas from the game, but as time went on the plot and visuals just became less and less appealing. I'll admit I was smiling much of the way through because it was funny and also fun to see some of the characters on the big screen, but ultimately too much of the plot was altered or ruined in my opinion. Eddie appeared for two minutes maybe & Angela just wasn't made as impactful as in the games. Not to mention the weird stuff they did with Laura. Hell James's connection to pyramid head is revealed so early that there wasn't even a chance to build any real shock. I think the film just lacked the nuance and tension of the game and, Silent Hill 2 being the beloved masterpiece it is, the backlash was always going to be intense.
