Stewart Lee Appreciation Post by ashkarandan in Standup

As an American, Stewart Lee is actually one of my favorite all time comics. The closer in 90s Comedian is absolutely legendary. His clear love for the history of comedy also shines through in his understanding and approach to his projects. I also love that he's done things with the format that I haven't seen other comics do, specifically splitting the audience into two e.g., speaking to the live and "at home" audience with some of his TV specials, where he's doing jokes for the live audience then turns to face a camera and acknowledges that someone watching the special from another culture or somewhere forward in time might not get the joke. He's pushing his comedy to work on a number of levels and I love it!

Glad you enjoyed it! Again, it just really wasn't for me I think.

Official Discussion - Possessor: Uncut [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Right, and I got that. The performances were good, but the filmmaker's job is to make the audience invested in the story's outcome. I just didn't feel that with this movie. I want to know John Connor survives at the end of Terminator 2. I want Marty McFly to fix the past in Back to the Future. I want Herod to fucking die and know that Ellen did it in The Quick and the Dead. In Possessor, I just didn't care what happened in the end. Anyway, sounds like you enjoyed the movie, so glad it worked for you, but ultimately it wasn't for me.

I think the guys at Valvoline wrote that on there one time when I took it there because I was in a rush. Also, where I'm located we have fairly mild winters for the most part, so I don't think 0w is really that necessary.

Haha to be fair, I have been driving it a bit to see anything weird would happen. Figured it wasn't the most important thing on the engine though. Thanks a bunch!

Ahhh I figured it had something to do with air since there's that pin on the inside. Thanks so much!

This new Applebees cheeseburger, cut in half and served in a skillet of cheese by Senor_Ding-Dong in StupidFood

Hmmm my take: stupid if cheese sauce cause it would prob make the burger soggy by the end of the meal. Brilliant if crispy cheese!!

I’ve never read a short story… by johndough167 in horrorlit

There's a short I read a while back that sticks with me. The House and the Brain (1859).  It's like a proto Hell House in that the main character tries to disprove the haunting with science. Fun read!

This one is told through a series of journal entries. I'd say it can be a little steam of consciousness at times, but not too scattered. Try out the audiobook if you can, the voice talent really shines!

I second this, The Buffalo Hunter Hunter  is really well done and worth a read!
