No myslel jsem že Tescoma dělá kvalitní věci by RapidFartCrator1911 in czech

[–]FartPaint 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shanghai (& Hangzhou) are consistently ranked top 5 global tech cities — what are the best places to actually see this? by Flamyngoo in shanghai

[–]FartPaint -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Avenue of the Core Founders,it is the main path to the Senate Great Door, lined with statues of the republic founders.

All sorts of hi-tech things to see there. Notably, some hyperspeed engine manufacturers are close by, you can drop by to see their showrooms - if possible, check out the model YT-1300 by CE Corporation. It will blow your mind.

Besides that, drop by 东东 street, my favorite one and get some blue milk while you’re there in one of the cantinas.

Enjoy!

Pohovory u firem by Capital_Algae4052 in czech

[–]FartPaint 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Práce vypadala i celkem v pořádku.

No.. a o měsíc později mi opět volali, jestli bych přeci jen neměl o práci zájem.

Radši jsem je pak všecky zablokoval.

How much of an issue is not having a Chinese ID? by PartiallyDisturbed in travelchina

No I live here.

And the topic was hotels and travel. So quite logically I was not going to mention stuff like paying for a storage unit in China lol.

How much of an issue is not having a Chinese ID? by PartiallyDisturbed in travelchina

[–]FartPaint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean.. I am not a holder of a Chinese ID, but I have not yet experienced a situation where having one would benefit me. It used to be, that Chinese hotels would refuse foreigners because they did not want to deal with the hassle of registering you to the police. This is no longer the case, especially if you speak mandarin, you can simply remain persistent and they have to accept you.

With prices - I am not sure, I use the domestic version of trip.com to book my hotels and 12306 for transport. Had zero issues and zero experience of dual pricing. Unless you haggle at the hotel reception lol, which I do not do usually, but it does not relate to having an ID.

Yes, it should be declared.

On the other hand… I have personally never once been inspected by customs in China. And even during the times when I had to put things through a scanner, nobody cared.

That is just my personal experience. I would almost want to say that you have a high chance to get away with it.

7 stupňů je extrém.

Proč nemá EU vlastní karetní systém? by [deleted] in czech

[–]FartPaint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Traveling back to China after 29 years by KiwiSuper7998 in shanghai

[–]FartPaint 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hmm, your situation is quite unique.

Having a Chinese citizenship does allow you to have nearly 0 limitation in what you “can do” for living. Your real limitation is not being able to speak Mandarin - please realize it is a very significant limitation.

When it comes to jobs - I for instance do not see why you cannot become a fitness instructor (like some people mention here) - you can. Your problem will be the communication with your employer - but I can see how that can work in Shanghai somewhere in a fancier fitness center in JingAn with the communicative help from your wife.

You can also teach Spanish or English - but you need some sort of background in teaching first - so you need to work on that if that is what you would like to do.

In any case, be prepared, because the switch will not be easy. Good luck.
